JJ's in bumps

ive heard so much goos stuff about this years JJ's and i really wanna get a pair, but ive heard nothing about how they perform in the bumps! its meant to slay in the pow, cruise on piste and generally be a sick all mountain but there is so much bumps in trees and on steep runs that i love doing too! just wanna know if anyone knows how they perform in the bumps cause ive not heard of anything from them in any thread yet!

probably not too well, they are a backcountry ski and aren't meant to go through bumps, they will be really hard to maneuver into such tight turns, the same is true with any wide based ski

I havent skiied the JJs, so I can't help you as far as that goes, but my ski is 112 at the waist and Id from my experience it really depends on how you ski bumps. With those skis i can definitely pop off of moguls and makes little carves here and there, I am a good skiier and like skiing moguls faster than theyre supposed to be. anyways, Ill usually use my vcts on mogul days (104 waist) which can bomb pretty good, again, I make a carve every 4 or 5 moguls when i really start going, but I can also ski them properly if I want. Id say if youre a proper mogul skiier and want a little fatter ski go with something mid 90s or lower in the waist, if you want a more pow specific ski that does well in moguls id look for something around 105 in the waist, and btw I absolutely love my vcts for everything, figured id give them a quick endorsement, but ive found that at 112 and above there's a bit too much ski to really maneuver the ski properly. And ill add that Ive skiied the new EHPs which are a bit more like the jjs, and moguls are by no means not fun, theyre just different to ski and Id be scared of icy east coast moguls with them. I think thats enough for now.

cheers buddy great advice! by no means am i a hardcore mogul skier, i ski all the mountain trying to jib of anything! down the groomers will just play around, ski switch find some jumps. i ski park lots as well (but will have a different ski). i love powder and the steeps and love going though trees. but i find a lot of the steeper terrain has bumps on and i tend to bomb the bumps pretty aggressive. previously been riding scratch bc with a 86mm waist which has been great in the bumps! so i was really just asking if they are going to hold up ok in the bumps and not make me suffer badly, which case get a different ski! i have mainly been skiing in silver star and whister which may be why bumps is more of a big thing!

the jjs are a fantastic ski and i'm thinking about getting a pair for myself, but you really want an all mountain ski i'd get something more along the lines of the arv

well if thats where youre skiing i say def go with the jjs, The extra effort going into the bumps will more than make up for it on the pow/slush days and if thats how you ski than commit to rockered skis, you absolutely wont regret it
