Jiberish Spring/Summer '13

I had the same problem with my button down from last winter, a friend of mine told me his from this year seems fine though so I think the issue is fixed

I had this problem as well. Now whenever a button gets remotely loose I rip it off and have my friend sew it back on for me. It's happened to three buttons so far :/

Yeah, we fixed this. It had happened 2 seasons ago, and this past Winter and the current Spring/Summer pieces have all the buttons double stitched to make sure they hold. On the previous shirts we replaced buttons for anyone who reached out to us with the problem.

Thx

Well written, Pete. I completely agree with what you are saying too. I usually hate when people say "We're an evolving brand!" or something similar as an excuse for when they start to stray away from what they started out as. You guys, on the other hand, have managed to stick to your roots while progressing your companies image to something new and refreshing. I feel like this is the point in a bands career where they are coming out with there second album. They have there core group of fans who think it sounds like garbage and all the new fans who think its the greatest thing theyve heard. Then you have those original fans who gave the album another listen and even though it sounded different, it had all the same style and sole as the first one. After all who wants to make the same music there whole career?

Jiberish has done a great job at catering to my personal taste in clothing. I remember looking through the old lines thinking they looked so dope years ago. I see some of those pieces now and think "God did I really like that?". Dont get me wrong there will always be a place in my closet for Jungle Cats and Ignants, but some of the things I thought looked cool a while ago just look tacky as shit to me now. They have done an outstanding job at taking the brand from something that was strictly for the hill to something I wear out to parties and around town. Hell I get compliments left and right on my Khaki Pusher.

Pete, dont change a Goddamn thing

-Joe

But i feel like what they offered in the last few drops was the same kind of stuff i could've bought from another brand. I don't mind the shift as long as they stay original.

Phenomenal find. Walker, Hornbeck, Delorme, Wallisch, and Harlaut at Hood back in 2009 or maybe even 2008 I think. We made those for the team back then. Each person got one.

Interesting fact for those who follow the brand: Those are the only center print J-Crown piece we have ever done. A few others (Vanular, Cosco, Norman and other homies got them too). Inside the neck had a special printed quote that talked about the reason they were a part of the Jiberish Fam. We never sold one though and it is the only official "Tall Tee" we ever did. They were printed on Galaxy blanks since we did not make them.

well thanks pete. Funny story for ya: my friend from school came up to me last year and was like 'hey you ski right? you know Tom Wallisch?' He then proceeded to tell me that he dated Wally's sister and is friends with him. He showed me his actual facebook account, and what do ya know, they're friends. This was one of Tom's old profile pics, thought it would cause a stir amongst the noobs haha

I wonder if those guys still have their shirts. Even though I'm past my tall T days, I'd still pay a lot for one of those

another fun fact, there have been at least 2 for sale at some point on ns

navy cord hoodie for this season

Pete, possible to remove the leather patch cleanly? Just think it would look cleaner without

P.s. Still loving my varsity every day

yup I got that one at the boulder pro sale then sold it here on NS. can't even remember what I got for it, think I traded... lol

not gonna lie, wasnt liking the drop with the first few pieces they previewed, as it was stuff that although i understand where they are going with it I personally could not wear and look good in ie the floral stuff, but now i'll definitely be getting a few items probably a shirt or two and a hoodie or something. maybe even a button up, keep up the good work Pete!

I am so stoked on all of Jiberish's new drops. That being said, I also love all of Jiberish's old stuff. But just because I like the old stuff, that doesn't mean I'll bitch and complain about them being sell outs and try to get them to remake their old style. I'll just take five minutes and try to locate an older piece.

Awesome work, Pete. Everything looks amazing for this next drop so far. You've got a brand that I'll stick by for a long time.

Haha why does everyone keep saying this? Basically all he did was say "I'm right. You're wrong. Deal with it." He openly admitted that he's only making clothes that he and his friends like, not what his consumer base wants/likes, and while he claims to be doing something original, all he's doing is following the recent trends of every other "streetwear" brand out right now. Ooohhh, floral print and camo! How fucking original! I actually had a lot more respect for Pete and the company before that hilariously conceited/arrogant post, but what does my opinion matter anyway? Haha. I also think it's funny how he tries sooo hard to be "core" by denying "countless offers" and saying it's not about the money. It's always about the money, he's just trying to be a hipster by keeping his brand "exclusive." Whatever. Rant over. Time for more beer.

This guy knows a thing or two about business. Its a bold, yet brilliant idea to supply less than the quantity demanded, anyone with some kind of background in economics would support this. Clearly it has payed off though. By promoting creativity and quality through your products and not focussing on quantity, you've created a relationship with your customers (rational ones) and athletes that keeps the brand going. In the long run, these qualities have allowed you to expand your flagship stores to keep the Jiberish legacy going.

Side note, I'm pretty sure that sales haven't decreased because 5XL is no longer available... haha

Anyways, Jiberish is brilliant, some people are irrational, and I'm looking forward to seeing some new, always-creative flagship stores in the next few years.

Cheers,

Max

The simplicity is sweet on this one. I hope Jiberish works with that artist some more. I like his style. The only suggestion I have is that maybe it would have looked better with the modern type logo. This line is on point.

While I like the design/patterns, ever since the fit changed I haven't bought a sweatshirt. Since its no longer slim fit like in 09/10 it's just been too boxy for me. But as 6,1 140lbs I know I am the minority.

You seem like a very smart business man. I love Jiberish and will continue to buy it because you guys offer the best fitting hoodies and t-shirts known to man. I have one complaint though, my brothers and I have gotten at least 4 pieces every year since 08. Every year we have had shipping problems/ zipper problems/and threads coming out. I know I am beating a dead horse here, but have you guys looked into a better quality zipper, and maybe hiring some more people for the shipping department. Again I know this is easier said then done. I will buy $80-$110 hoodies and jackets from you guys all day long, but at the end of the day, it should hold up and I don't think that's asking too much. I know you guys have a pretty good return policy, but we all know that is a huge hassle and nobody wants to have to deal with it. Especially with today's shipping costs. Any input on this issue would be great. Again this is not hate, just something I have noticed over the years.

It doesn't. If you stop buying/talking about/hating on Jiberish, I can only imagine the impact it will have on the company. But they will find a way to move on.
