Ipods are DOPE.....

My ipod has been weird for like 4 months now but it just finally exploded. ill make a list of all things that have been gay on it:

-only ipod earbuds and miraculously skullcandy headphones truely work and it doesnt randomly pause. everything else it always pauses.

-when its cold out and im skiing with it and i have just charged the battery full, it loses its battery after about half an hour and when it warms up its fine but theres no point in bringing it anymore.

-at certain times it wont turn on and ill have to reset it, but theres no pattern, just random.

- and finally, when i was at the hill and i was warming it up in the lodge i kept trying to see if it would turn on and then it would show the apple sign and then show the battery is dead sign and this repeated about 10 times until the apple logo was on the screen for about 5 minutes and then it turned on with half battery life and guess what?! EVERY SONG AND PLAYLIST WAS GONE! FUCK YEAH! now it does the whole complete reboot of the ipod thing whenever i turn it on. so i sent it in... DOPE.
 
my ipod works when it wants to....and i just got it, the new nano. It pauses whenever it wants, and sometimes the hold button doesn;t even work
 
the new nanos are waaaaaaaay dope the battery lasts for like 2 days sstraight i used to have a video and not even make it thro the day
 
mine does the EXACT same things as yours....i have to reset it allll the time, it sucks. Oh and if all your music is gone, just hard reset it and it almost always comes back.
 
my new nano was super sick and the battery seriously lasts forever.. then i tried to 180 this huge fence gap and landed in a crater and my body folded in half and apparently my ipot with it... not all the way in half but i bent it and it doesnt work any more :( but i got the cuirciut city protection plan so i should get a new one
 
ipods are the fucking shittiest hardware i ever have had the displeasure of using. seriously, i don't know one person who has an ipod who hasn't had problems with it. as popular as they are, you think that apple would permanently do something about it.
 
i have never had any problems with my ipod. The battery will go down in anything if its too cold, it freezes quick on the hill. You just gotta put like a hand warmer in ur pocket with it, or like put it in a glove or something

 
get the 3G ipod....fucking hot shit

i heart mine...had it for 3 years and i've only had to switch the battery (did it myself for 10 bucks)

man that suck as id flip out if i spent 300 bucks on something and it fucked over i have a psp and it hold all the music i need with a 1 gig ,memory card and it is not affected by the cold at all its not that big ad they are tough a hell i whipped out today and landed on it and it dident hert it at all
 
yup mine just died, all songs gone. nothing working. i shuld be getting a new one in the mail soon enough.
 
first off any battery dies when its cold do some reserch i don't know the exact reason but it just happens just keep the ipod in a pocket up against your body my friend has stiched a pocket in his long underwear so his body heat keep it warm

the earbuds thing maybe you ipod was just fucked everyone i know uses differnt earphones in there ipod works fine

the last thing its something like you hold the middle button and play/pause for a while and it removes everything this is for if you get something in your ipod that can't be removed

 
what i always do with my ipod when i ride so it doesnt freeze is put it in my sports bra, stays nice and toasty there. but i guess you dont really have that option. shitty dude.
 
Im going to put it out there and say you dont know too many people... Im not saying its a product or that its made broken, but like, come on
 
I got mine new, then 2 days later it froze and stopped working, I sent it in, and 3 days later I had a brand new one. Yes, they have problems, but at leas they have a fast turn-around on replacement/repair
 
I've had mine for a year and haven't had any problems to date. But then again, most of the time I just use it in my car.
 
i have the EXACT same problems, exact same. besides the headphones im not sure about but yeah, i cant ride with it cause it dies in cold no matter what i wrap it in, maybe im gonna try a hand warmer in a crocheted case in a goggle bag?
 
My 1st gen Nano has survived a lot of beatings. I really don't know how you guys manage to get so many problems.
 
yeah my 1st ipod died after like a year...it amde all these sketch sounds and then a little ipod came up with x's though its eyes. now i have a ipod video and its working fine
 
wierd shit. I have had a 4 gig nano for a year and a half. using it pretty much everyday, and i have not had one issue with it. Not even the smallest glitch. I also have had a 60 gig video since July, and use it everyday in my car and have never had anything happen with it. maybe i am just lucky?
 
your battery problems are from the battery freezing and creating crystals inside it...all rechargeables are like that...notice the operating temps
 
Battery life in the cold has nothing to do with the ipod or apple at all.

My ipod works with all headphones

Get a nano, flash drive with no moving parts, it wonr freeze up on you

Ipods are the shit and no other mp3 player out there is better or even close, and that not just brand loyalty talkin, read reviews.
 
nanos are awesome. the bigger ipods have moving parts that don't work so great when its really cold and getting knocked around alot. go with a nano.
 
its because you are retarded and ride with an ipod with the old lithium battery in it. you have to do what i did and suck it up, i went and got the red 8 gig nano for riding and it kicks ass hard, i can ride with my mdr-v600 sony headphones which have way more bass than any skull candy and the battery lasts all day long, and it never ever shuts off. might be hard for some of you guys to justify but with how much i ride, its worth every penny!
 
i bough a mini refurbrished from the apple store online for like 120 and ive had it for about 2 years, haven't had a problem yet
 
It seems like everyone that has a Windows-formatted iPod has issues, and everyone that has the HFS filesystem on their iPod has no issues.
 
i dropped my nano off a twently foot high thing onto a bunch of rocks then it bounced into the snow. Onyl got a small dent.
 
Ive have my ipod for a year now...now problems

it never freezes and i just keep it in my pocket it stays fine also battery doesnt die as long as its charged...even if its 10 degrees

my buddies are all the same...except they put theirs through washers...haha
