So I have an Ipad 3 and am looking into getting myself a GoPro to do some filming. But I do not have a working laptop, nor am I looking into spend a grand to get one. Is it possible to edit stuff from a GoPro on an Ipad?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks guys

you would need the sd card to ipad/iphone reader. that being said, I dunno if the footage would be pulled into imovie or vimeo editor or what.

I did this during the summer.

Dongles:

Apple sells a dongle for SD to their port, and it also comes with a USB to their port. ($29) Unfortunately, since it hasn't been updated to fit the new attachment slot on the iPad 3, iPad Mini, iPhone 5, etc. So you'd have to purchase the 30 pin to lightning adapter ($29)

At this point, you've already spent $58 on this, which, if you have the money, sounds like a decent investment.

Importing:

Once you plug in the camera to the dongle, open up Photos, and it'll help you import the photos/videos.

There is a written explanation on it: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4101

Apps for editing:

I used Avid Studio for iPad, but you have some other choices.

- Avid

- iMovie

There are other apps, but I think the two best are the above!
