welcome to jay peak!

jeh, I think about 40 - 60 cm was also the most in my home mountain in Austria this year. Was a fucking sick powder year though. Hope the next winter gets at least as good as the last one. PRAY!!!

You know.... that picture ^ is at Alpine Meadows, CA. Hardly east coast.

In other news, Spring Break at snowbird was epic this year. I'm so happy I got to go.

And then there's this. I don't have pictures from skiing, but one day, the snow plow was sitting on asphalt. Then, three days later, the ten foot tall snowplow was only three feet tall. EPIC.

bahaha your so right

But, you can get lucky skiing jay or other real mountains sometimes its no west coast powder but its not horrible

Hahahaha! I look at all these pics and just facepalm! 6 feet is an epic season for us, not an epic few days! I did get to ski some sweet waist deep in Tahoe when I was there and now have a trip booked for Japan in February....stoked! The pics just get me so stoked about skiing pow!

Oh man the east was pretty good to my crew this year, had a day up at Killy that was consistently waist deep, and was getting chest deep in places....... what a hell of a day

Jackson, Christmas '08 - The only time i've experienced the snow being too deep. Seriously.

Season before last we had a 72" 3 day storm at stevens pass. 33" in one night. Then we had a 50 ft tall avy that blocked off the highway until it rained and fucked up all of the snow. PROBABLY THE COOLEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED~

The man tells the truth!

December 22nd, 2008. Killington, VT. We had a nice cycle of storms. About 40+ inches in about 5 days or so. Found some completely untouched in the woods.

my first time EVER skiing powder of any amount ( i grew up skiing at chestnut in illinois), it was a 24 inch day at bridger bowl. it was out of control.

is anyone else getting REALLY stoked to go skiing after lookign at this thread??

minor fail. I'll lay down money that groomer is not on the EC. can't really tell from the shot, but thought I'd share for the hell of it. Shot on day # 1, got 35 " in 3 days at da 'bush VT. 12/20/08 - 12 /22/08 days of the deep, you will be remembered.

My shot from earlier in the thread was from that same storm cycle.

Make sure you upload the photo though!

Thats damn close the world record 24 hour snowfall. Back in high school I did a report on the 1986 February storm in Tahoe. I guess there was a reported 76" in 24 hours up in mt rose meadows which tied the world record. The storm overall produced 15-20 feet of snow, but with 20-30 inches of water content. So if you want to know the deepest powder from a storm, that might be it, but definitely not the most enjoyable.
Hopefully Tahoe can get out of this drought and back into these trends.

Bahahaha Steve I can't believe I didn't think to link that photo when I was talking about deep snow. I kept shooting photos after this one, but this was the last frame where you could still SEE steve-o above the snow, it just kept getting deeper and deeper!!!!

That day is second only to the Valentine's Day storm back in 06 or 07 in my book.... SO DEEP.

this was at steamboat this year stolen from a thread, but Jackson last spring break was about that deep we had between 14-16" each day and one day was 22 for 4 days straight. The hike was a bitch but the chest deep made it worth it.

yeah i had a day like that once but we didnt take a picture and decided to keep charging kinda regret that now

damn and i thought we (most eastern alps) had much snow...

but compared to some shots it looks like the slope

I think we got 13 inches of snow in a storm this year...but it was on top of ice and it developed this nasty crust so it really sucked. I love Indiana.
