In response to: "September 11th, a forgotten legacy?"

Before I go into this subject, I must get this off of my chest. Iraq is going to be a mess for the next 20 years at least. If you support what is going on over there, you can go down to your local recruiter, sign up, strap up, and ship off to the sand box. I know for a fact that there are hundreds or thousands of sons, husbands, brothers, uncles, and friends who would love to come back home rather than be over there. If you feel so goddamn strong about action in Iraq, you need to be a little proactive about it.

...now that I'm done with that... I totally agree that a puppet government is being installed over there in the sand box. More terrorists operate out of iraq NOW than before US occupation began! Essentially we have created a magnet and attracted this violence to us.

I don't know why the average moron here in America thinks that everyone around the world behaves in the same way we do. Over there Islam is king. Most of these people will do anything for their religion. At some point you can't stop them with an M-16. They hate the US so much they will kill themselves in attemp to stop us. They hate the US so much that they teach their children to kill themselves in attemp to stop us. This is a "war" than cannot be won. I know it's a terrible thing to say... but Iraq actually needs a dictator to run properly. This whole thing of democracy doesn't mix well into their culture. Because over there, it's not about republican and democrat, it's about religion. The "I'm going to heaven, you're going to hell" attitude. To these people, if a vote doesn't go the way the sunnis want it, someone may very well suicide bomb their Parliment... that doesn't happen here in the US.

Maybe i can put it this way... how would you like it, if an extremely powerful middleastern country invaided the US, overthrew our government because they said they could run it better. Their soldiers walked the streets day and night, their helicopters could be heard constantly, and they acted arrogent and made you feel inferior. I know it doesn't make sense because we know these people are better off now. But they know that we have other motives.

It is inevitable that there is going to be a major energy crisis in the next 50 years. Iraq is going to be a major foothold. Energy wars are coming.

Saddam was a terrible man, don't get me wrong, but this is a losing battle guys. Most of Europe was smart and stayed out of the mess. It cannot be won. Sadly, we have no choice but to stay now.

^Fucking Brilliant. Thanks for opening the window and letting these other people see what is there. I don't think that all Muslims are that fanatic, but the small majority that are are loud and active.

You probably didn't do it on purpose, but you just suggested that countries shouldn't learn from their mistakes. Seems to be the position the USA has taken though.

grubix2..Good call. It's mixing apples and oranges. Just because a certain system works in the west, doesn't mean it works in the east and vice versa.

there are two threads on the subject...they're so close you wouldn't tell them apart. Check the other one.

dude, shut the fuck up, we had it on the news that we were going to attack iraq retard, don't you thing sadaam is smart enough to move his shit out? use your head asshole liberal

Isn't it a complex process to make a WMD? Wouldn't it require special factories, equipment, chemicals, people with the brains to make it happen? The got rid of ALL that evidence? Didn't leave a single shred? Not even a person who had the know how? If you say so...

wait wait....and you say that they did this without anyone detecting it? Really. And no neighbouring countries saw it either? I know some would probably help out...but no one who was willing to say something saw a bomb crossing a border? No frizzy haired smart guys? No tankers of chemical? No factories rolling in on the back of a truck? Nothing?

Hmm...your idea seems a bit suspicious to me...

I say we elect saddam the next president of the world, he must be a fucking genius to pull that off. Trick the whole world and get away with it as squeaky clean as a freshly scrubed toilet! Amazing!

Sorry bub, your reading your comment was as worthwhile as handing out condoms in a mormon church.

I totally agree with you, and that was my point. I was trying to give one of the reasons why people are often against american intervention. People remember the bad things that happened a lot more easily than the good things because the bad things tend to be more documented, even if they happened 30 years ago.

amazing man.

public maverick....he never had it in the first place. there was never proof to start with it either it was basically fabricated. sure he got money but he wasnt using it for that.

how brainwashed can people be?

Obviously i wasn't saying don't learn from mistakes. I said don't look at just the bad. There is a significant difference.

look. the main point is that america had no business going into iraq. why didnt they go into syria instead? they are manipulating lebanon, assasinated their leader and what is the us doing? nothing.
