I'm thinking of a gun

Ok my new predicament is:

Beretta 9 milli

or

Glock 9 milli

my roommate has a sig 40 cal and its to wild. I like the idea of having 15 in the hole if need be.... plus Glock just feels better and is low maintenance and ammo is cheaper compared to a 45.

^yeah dude i have 2 shot guns mossberg(with the pistol grip) and bunelli supernova (for birds) and I'm used to cheap ammo. I dont want to pay for 40-45 cal ammo if I can get 9 mill ammo and still have effective stopping power.

lets be honest, if you at the range your want to shoot 9 mill, if some one is your home and you want stopping power ill just go for my shotgun.

also i'm thinking glock 9 subcompact.....

anyone with a subcomp that would go for a full edition?

the only reason I'm asking is there is a balistics training ground at the firing range and I want to run it a few times a month. I'm thinking subcompact would be lighter but still efficient.

yeah nerf was cool when we were 11 but now im in my mid 20's im thinking about laying a motherfucker out if come to my house.

I personally really enjoyed the USP 9mm, over the glock.

But my suggestion is to goto a store, and get a feel for everything, see what fits YOU best.

Get a Saiga Shotgun instead. $1500 and they're dope.

Or an M1911, probably the coolest pistol ever. 45. Cal.

Or maybe an M16A4 or an M16A2, both super dope guns.

i'd second going and seeing what fits you the best. some guns just don't fit some people's hands well.
for instance, glocks chew up my thumb knuckle and I personally don't really like shooting them for an extended period of time because I end up with a raw spot. however, my baby eagle & my S&W don't give me any problems at all. my roommate, on the other hand, absolutely loves his glock and it doesn't bite his hand even the slightest.

do you sell drugs or live in a bad neighborhood or something? why you so scared someones going to come up in your house?

sorry, I don't understand. Protection against what??

are you a kkk member living in harlem?

do you encounter bears on a regular basis?

do you live in Somalia?

You might want to check out the CZ 75, its in my opinion one of the best shooting 9's out there. I would recommend a 1911, but they're pretty expensive compared to the 75 and somewhat hard to come by in 9mm. Both are extremely easy to maintain. Also, instead of a Glock look at an XD, they are higher quality but have the exact same look/feel.

i'm in no way taking an anti gun stance. guns are sweet and I love to shoot them at things. but really, why you so scared?

Haha sorry but this made me laugh. Perfect example of why apostrophes are necessary. No hate, i just thought the mixup was funny.

this way you can keep it in your pocket while picking up your kid from school. those grade 3's can get awfully nasty sometimes.

haha, exactly what i thought. i thought he was trying to bash gun laws saying like "yea, shot my neighbors, sooo good!" then i read the whole thing like twice and realized he shot his neighbor's gun. punctuation is key.

Derringer.

All handguns and semi-automatics have no place in a regular person's life and I really think they should be abolished from use.

I carried and shot an M9, I would not buy one. 15 rounds sounds inciting, until you realize that it takes 2-4 of those to put someone on the ground. We started training to shoot three rounds into a target. If given an option I would rather carry a 40 or 45 with 6-9 rounds.

If you want reliability at all costs get a glock.

Also are you planning on using this mainly as a range gun, or for carry? If for a range gun 9mm makes sense. For carry I would get a 40 or 45. Most 40 rounds have less penetration then the respective 9mm.

Others I would consider out of experience:

Springfield XD series

Smith and Wesson M&P series

out of recommendations:

HK 45c

sig 229

My 8 year old sister is having a birthday party in a couple days and she's having some friends over. I'm worried some will be packing heat.

Should I buy an M16 or a MP5?

Keep in mind they are between the ages of 7-9, so high bullet penetration isn't necessary.

idk if i were you i would stick with a sig .40. thisng looks cooler than a 9mil and the calibur of bullet provide stopping power. a 9 mm baretta only provides piercing power.

stop trying to troll. no one is paying any attention to your silly scenarios, your just looking like a jackass continuously posting trying to get a rise out of people.

carrying concealed weapons is retarded. 99.999% of your life in US or Canada you do not need a handgun for protection. The only place it has is at a firing range. Being able to carry one on you is absolutely autistic. The only time I can see someone needing a gun for defence in these 2 countries is if you're say up in NWT and run into a mother bear with cubs who is going to attack. In which case a handgun is just going to anger the mother fucker. At that point you want a god damn rifle or shotty with slugs.

I have an older glock 17 that I got a couple years ago. Some neighborhood kids have been messing around on my street (car raiding, garage shopping, ding dong ditching). I've been thinking about shooting them if they come onto my property again but I don't know if killing them would be justified in court? Can anyone help me? I'm 22 and these kids are probably 14-16. and I live in NY

i've never understood why people always talk 9's down in a sense for the lack of stopping power in comparison to a .40. I mean, yeah I understand that a 40 is going to pack a little more punch, but a 9mm with hollow points is still going to stop a mother fucker dead in his tracks. and the ammo is so much cheaper than a 40 or 45. it just seems that a lot of 40 owners act like a 9 is a pellet gun that won't do shit to stop an intruder.

sure seems to be about "which gun is going to penetrate more". if you're using it for target practice, why would that matter?

so when your daughters friends get too rowdy he can senselessly and effectively put them down without wasting ammo and money. you said it, not me

50 cal desert eagle ...
or akimbo m1911s ....

Please keep your sheeple opinions to your self. If you want to make a thread complaining about the sheepdogs who annoy you feel free, this is not it. Also please do not speak about things you don't know about. With the right round, and shot placement, it is very possible to take out something along the lines of a pissed of mamma grizzly.

glocks are nice because of how low maintenance they are, and the internal hammer would make it a good gun to be able to grab quickly in the event that you would need it. the plastic parts make it a fairly lightweight handgun as opposed to all steel, and they are a decently rugged handgun

hahaha there are so many good arguments to be stated for guns, but instead you just regurgitate some stupid ass analogy that makes you feel special.

you're the sheepdog bro!! herding us poor helpless sheep.. oh how indebted we are to you and your sheepdog friends

that is fucking classic

lol at non Americans shitting on guns. bump up the gun control thread to post in please not this one.as a card carrying member of the NRA,(and by no means a conservative) open conversastion on said topic.

we have guns DEAL WITH IT. there is a hand gun i forget that you can switch out the barrel so that you can shoot .22 with it. a nine is very nice gun. personally i have a 5 shot 357.mag revolver that i can but rarely have on me.. only when i am hunting do i have it so that if a cougar sneaks up on me i have a chance. i rarely if ever wear it in an urban setting. i mean .. don't brandish a water balloon if you have no intention of getting wet!

mostly a range gun,

in all honesty I like the fact that the 9mm clip size is so large. I'm planing on running a tactical course twice a week so I just want a durable reliant side arm.
