Watch yourself.
The US Armed Forces are DESPERATE for pretty much ANYONE to join, and will say and do things that are definitely unethical and borderline illegal in order to get you to sign on that dotted line.
The recruitment tactics they use are ridiculous. They'll pretty much flat out lie to you if they think it'll get you to join, in part because there are quotas, and recruiters get paid more if they meet them.
Do whatever you need to do to NOT go to that dinner. And if you do go, don't settle for anything less than $100/person, and DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING.
Unless you feel that time in the armed forces is something you want to do, which is noble and all, but once you sign, game over, you're in.
