There are tons of people with super short snowblades. It is all very European. Racers flock to short sticks in mass after a change in snow consistancy and materials gives them a 0.000001% advantage over those who did not make the switch. Those with longer skis continue to dominate all events however, because they generally have more nuts.
There are devoted followers of the newschool spirit, which in some ways has become oldschool, but nonetheless, NS lives on and fuels this subculture (which should answer an earlier question as well).
