Kind of on subject, I suppose. I do masonry work (brick, block stone) and we got hired to do a job at the local masonic temple. It was weird as shit for multiple reasons.
1. The Masonic Temple..... weren't the freemasons originally masons, like me? Why the hell do they have to hire people to do their masonry?
2. "Shriners" stickers all over inside the place. I don't know about you guys, but my only experience of the Shriners was when I was a little kid, watching parades, and old men in fez hats cruised through in go-karts. The stickers said things like "The grotto prophet aids the crippled child".
3. Swords galore! Like, 55 gallon drums, filled with fancy looking pirate swords.
4. Colorful robes. Racks upon racks of crazy, super-bright robes.
5. A stack of pamphlets. I wish I would've snagged one, but didn't for fear that I was being watched. Pamphlet title: The Commandery of The Knights Templar of Washington State.
WHAT THE HELL? I was utterly baffled.
