If you are going to vote in the next election and you are going to vote for Obama because hes black, you think he going to give you more welfare money, or you think he will actually fix any problems with the country please read this:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/peterferrara/2011/05/05/reaganomics-vs-obamanomics-facts-and-figures/

Obama is not the great leader people think he is, learn from the past we can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. Make an educated decision if you choose to vote.

so you are assuming that we are all on welfare? I like white people just as much as black people. Sure hasn't done the best but he is better then what Romney will do.

get you'r judgmental junk out of here.

Just one question.. can you name one policy that Obama has enacted so far in his term that will cause any type of economic recovery? Throwing money at the lower class and and increasing are deficit is the only thing he has done so far.

Oh, I realize we are fucked either way our economy is based on unlimited growth and with out growth we are just going deeper in debt. Our money no longer means anything and we are definitely fucked in the long run. we have used nearly all our resources we are on the decline. But that doesn't mean we can't get Obama out of office and at least prolong the end.

Everyone should vote. It's the only real voice you have. You are voting in the "man", so before you complain about him remember how he got there.

It doesn't affect you, do not act like it affects you, do not put yourself in situations where it may effect you, you are yourself.

Don't be so hasty to respond, ponder the idea of existentialism for a while, but don't drift down the road of nihilism.

You are NOT represented by the vast majority

pretty much.

i guess you select the lesser of two evils?? either way, you're stuck with an 'evil' individual. freedom of choice, yet there's only two options?? shit doesn't add up.

OK, from an existentialists point of view I have been stripped of my inalienable rights. My torrents were taken... that hits home. My father lost his job because of outsourcing. Free trade with China and third world countries is to blame can't compete with wages. How is that?

this, and obama has done almost nothing about decriminalization... its like one thing that needs to change, and is easy to change, and his stupid ass hasnt done it...

just fire the dea... be like dea, you are fired....use that money too pay for healthcare, cancer research, paying off the debt etc...

Maybe a little better....... but I wanted Ron Paul but that ship sank with the extremely conservative republicans. Fuck Politics this thread is now a FUCK THE POLICE thread.

Okay, maybe Obama isn't IDEAL but do you really think some of the other candidates are? I mean honestly, some times you just got to work with what you got and make the best of it even if they aren't perfect, personally I feel that Obama is the best fit out of the CURRENT candidates. No he's not perfect and no he's not amazing, I'm not saying he's the greatest so don't get me wrong, but out of our choices I think he's the best pick.

I believe from my a posteori knowledge that you either did not give the statement enough thought or you are not willing to depart from your dogmatic views.

You can't eat your cake and have it too.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but that's what life is all about: creating competitive advantages for yourself and applying your knowledge. Without capitalism and outsourcing, the vast majority of products would skyrocket in price and become inaccessible to the general population. Face it, companies chase profit, American wages deter profit; therefore, outsourcing becomes viable. There will come a day when the tables will turn and China, yes China, will be the superpower of the World a la the USA of today. China simply needs to relinquish itself of American currency and jobs will flow freely back to North America. That said, is that truly what you want? US of China?

You sound like one of my friends who is a philosophy major, we don't see eye to eye, that's why I'm an economics major.

No man, fuck YOU. You can't come on to NS, start an anti-Obama thread and then dip when the shit hits the fan - as it was guaranteed to do the moment you sat your dumb ass down in front of your computer.

I shouldn't even look at American politics because the whole thing makes me weep for the future and cringe at the fact that there's no solution to this problem. Your wonderful social experiment died with the Great Depression and with the horrific realization that the American Dream doesn't have room for 300 million fortune seekers. You're fucked either way, and Obama is neither accelerating nor decelerating your demise.

presidential_facepalm.jpeg

OP you should study up on economics.... Obama is doing what he should (increased spending etc) our debt although bad isn't unbearable (start worrying if we hit over 150% GDP) and seriously look into Keynesian economics.

First off

/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

Should we really be happy with him "neither accelerating or decelerating our demise?" I am just pointing out that his policies are not the way to fix the economy. The American Dream died when Bill Clinton opened free trade with China. Our policies on global economy is what killed that Dream. Our businesses that made us a super power are moving over seas to compete with these companies leaving us with dwindling job opportunities and high unemployment and less money in every citizens pocket and more in the pockets of executives of those companies moving to third world countries to increase profit margins. I would suggest you produce some actual substance to your comment because I found nothing in you rant that has any value to this thread.

I didn't read a single word of this thread other than the title, but I'm here to say I'm voting for Obama just to piss off the OP.

That is...if I ever get around to registering this time.

Ad hominem, dick.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like you just reiterated my point. What I'm trying to say is that there isn't a place for the Libertarian America that someone like Paul advocates because there are too many Americans. It worked out for a century and a half but it proved ultimately to be unsustainable and 300 million people can't each achieve success, so it doesn't make sense to perpetuate the idea that they can. I don't know man, maybe I'm bitter about all this shit, but it frustrates me when people scream fuck Obama without a viable solution to back themselves up. (and that applies to more than just you)

well i know you're fucking stupid you want to move to a gold stander, you know who makes the price of gold 12 guys in London sitting at a table would wake up each day and tell us how much our money is worth.

Dude, seriously...let's go through this. You clearly need a new strategy for posting in threads

1. Think of idea for post

2. Think REAALLLYYY hard about what you're actually going to post

3. Write a rough draft in Microsoft Word

4. Spellcheck

5. Grammar check

6. Call a friend who isn't a fucking retard, and have him read it over

7. Delete the post, get the fuck off NS, and drive your car off a cliff.

Once again you're rambling and none of it has any substance- ----"Libertarianism- is generally considered to be the group of political philosophies which emphasize freedom, individual liberty, and voluntary association. " If you don't support a candidate that wants to increase freedom and individual liberty then you should probably just move to China with our big businesses.

Do you not believe for a second that every single American striving for life, liberty, and security of person is an impossible goal?

No, I don't life and liberty should be guaranteed to every citizens. I am not sure you understand how capitalism works, of course not everyone is going to make fortunes there will always be people below the poverty line, but opportunity to reach that goal of security of person is what makes capitalism work.

yeah so voting for the economic policies that got us into this mess is definitely the smarter move. OP is uniform and the article linked is stupid.

The only thing I can agree with is making an educated vote. I feel that Obama won because of a lot of people voting for him just because he was black. The youth and the minority vote is what made him win and many of those voters dont even know what a foreign policy is. There is a lot more to a candidate then what they have in a commercial or say in a speech.

No Sir, you just can't read. No where in this post did I suggest a candidate for you to vote for; I am shedding light on Obama policies that will not ever fix our economy.

The guy who wrote that article, Peter Ferrara, is slightly (or maybe not so slightly) unhinged. He goes on the Thom Hartman program a lot and goes into rages where he loses his shit. I think Hartman just has him on to show how crazy he gets.

Don't vote for Romney. Please don't. I say this as a European, if he's going to be president this world is fucked. Seriously. The tension in the Middel-East is already way too big. If he's going to be president surely there will be a big war. As well as something involving North-Korea.

I'd much rather have Obama than Romney. Although Obama wouldn't be my first choice it's clear that Mitt Romney is the new Richard Nixon.

I dont support Obama. But I also dont support people who bash candidates and provide no backing for why I should vote for who they support.

Who do you suggest we vote for and what are their policies? Convince me TO vote for someone rather than NOT TO vote for someone.

Politics are fucking annoying.

What's your reasoning for thinking this??? I hate people who talk about American politics and don't even live in America.

Haha every politician flip flops their views. What you didn't look up is the radical left wing liberal policies Obama endorsed in his time in the senate. See, the way our fucked up political system works is if you want to become president you have to come to the middle from a political party stance as to get the maximum amount of votes from both parties. It is almost impossible to become president with out doing this Exhibit A: Ron Paul.

He's a supporter of the Iraqi war and the war in Afghanistan. He wants to increase the size of the army. He's very anti-Russia, which is dangerous. He's a liberal fascist (if you ask me). He's a big supporter of Israel.

Also, Romney is a Reagan fanboy - and Reagan was a fighter (and yes I know it didn't actually come to a fight). That shit scares me.

Everything about Romney is scary and I guarantee you there will be another war under his administration, being it in Korea, the Middle East or elsewhere, I'm sure there will be one. He's such a chauvinistic asshole and he strongly believes that America is actually *better* than other nations. That's so wrong.

Oh, and last but not least: he's a Mormon.
