if u think this shit is just the earth going threw a heating cycle or what ever u can not denie what

"the inconviniant truth"(most likely a spelling error)

has to say...so all u who dont beleive in global warming and all u who do, need to watch this movie it completely explains everything and shows if we do not pull ower heads out of our ass's there will be no more skiing, heavly populated areas will be flooded etc. and we will be at a point of no return

If "The Inconvinient truth" does not make u think global warming isnt happenind and/or is a problem...I dont know what will

ummmmm..... no. ever hear of axis tilt? sure greenhouse has an effect but not THAT much. if you look at records of back in the early 1900s and late 1800s they also thought everything was heating up cause of some record temps, but guess wat... it didnt. chill the fuk out manbearpig. but thats my opinion.

there's alot of stuff that explains climate change. i wont get into it because im not an expert but around 1600 there was a mini ice age which helped slow down the already melting glaciers and ice stuff. during the 50 or 100 yrs solar flares have been increasing and now is its all time high, why because its part of a suns life cycle therefore ice melts. a fact that lots of people overlook is that CO2 is at an all time low. dont get me wrong we are a cause of this but there are a lot of other factors people tend to ignore.
 
you haven't seen the movie. Everything warmed up, but not this much. Yea, everything goes in cycles, but the cycles are slowly moving towards warmer and warmer temps. Obviously some people beleive it and some don't, and I don't know as much as I should on the subject to argue about it, but I do know that the argument you just proposed isn't legit.

Everyone who believed what Al Gore had to say in "An Inconvenient Truth" is an idiot. End of story.

For those of you still unconvinced, let's examine this shitty movie.

First of all, Al Gore doesn't label the axes on his graphs. There is a reason for this, because every value on the Y axis on his graphs is logged. This means he took the value and made it a power of ten. For example, if the Y axis was 1,2,3, his graph would read 10,100,1000 (10^1,10^2,10^3). This is a common practice in statistics but it dramatizes the pitch of the slope significantly. To the average viewer, all of his red lines seem much more convincing than they really are.

Second of all, during the sequence of photographs of various glaciers and geographical areas, he doesn't label what season the pictures are taken in. In some of them, it is clear that the previous picture was taken during winter, and the current picture was taken during summer.

Third of all, most of the techniques Al Gore tries to convince the common viewer are just plain ridiculous when examined. Pixar-animated polar bears are not an accurate representation of what is actually happening in the polar ice caps. A fork-lift going up should not shock anyone.

Lastly, when watching a movie like "An Inconvenient Truth", one has to wonder why the author produced such a movie. Flicking through the sequence of George Bush winning the election coupled with the superb shot of Al Gore peering out of his airplane window should offer an answer.

 
no, i havent. jea i see your point but agin, there are many other things, solar flares are on a rampage right now and everyone knows what those things can do. when there are that many, heat is bound to come down to earth.

every heard of solar variations? currently the sun is producing more energy that it has ever in the past, resulting in warmer temperatures. global warming is real but it IS NOT human caused.

would you rather learn to adapt to warmer weather or try and spend trillions of dollars trying to play god and change mother nature.

 
so an entire group of professional scientists coming out and publically announcing that global warming is real is democratic propaganda?
 
well even if it is a cycle that will reverse itself, were still causing some of it with pollution, if you argue with the proof of that then youre just stupid, and even if pollution somehow isnt causing global warming it still isnt good for anyone, so we might as well get rid of it and see what happens.
 
according to the National Review, Al Gore predicted that the global ice caps would have water 23 feet higher than normal.

measurements done in january indicated the water was 17 INCHES higher than normal.

but yeah...i believe al Gore, because hes a trained meterologist and everything.

Global warming is bull shit. How many of you knew that in 1970's they were going to melt the glaciers because it was global cooling and they thought we were about to go into the next ice age.

 
humans are not the main cuase of global warming, its the bovine gases, from livestock akak burping and farting and things of that nature, but im still not conviced global warming is like totally real yet, i believe the earth goes through cycles
 
you do realize that politicians also pull funding from scientists who publish what they are against? and if we can't believe in scientists, what can we believe in? internet conspirators?

and of course global warming is real. it's both natural AND caused by man. The earth goes through cycles where it heats up just before an Ice Age. Well guess what, we're due for an Ice Age. Only problem is all of our pollution has increased the speed at which this is happening.
 
you realize, 1.) were OVERdue for an ice age, and 2.) theres no way to tell pollution's effect, seeing as how the earth has only gone through 6 ice age cycles, each one varying by a few thousand years. Its not like were millions of years overdue for an ice age...

we will go into another series of ice ages but still if were overdue by millions of years well men havent even been on the planet that long so we cant be affecting that
 
Global warming is real but it is natural. Even though I think this, I still believe there should be emmision laws and advancements in enviormental science. No drilling in Alaska and there should be more energy choices. I hate hilary clinton and would probably vote for rudy juliani before any of the contending democrats right now. Im in the violet party.
