you could have crashed and died. you could have been paralysed and had to be a vegetable for the rest of your life. even worse you could have crashed into someone else, possibly a car with little kids and killed them. At the very least they could have fined you for how fast you actually were going.

look honestly you are lucky, if im doing my math right you were going 31 over. In colorado that means they can impound your car, arrest you and based on the fact that your 17 driving late at night i think you can get curfew too. now see if i was your cop i wouldve given you the 16 point ticket you earned cuz im still pissed that my cop did that to me. so please please please stop bitching to us about your weak ass ticket and jsut be happy its not worse.

Well said..Really, things could be a whole lot worse. There are people living in societies with virtually zero material possessions that are as happy as can be. You learned your lesson, show your parents that you truly feel like you fucked up and have remorse, and seek happiness in different ways. Ultimately its all up to you.

Do some research on radar calibration requirements. Police are required to calibrate their radar guns at certain time intervals (it's once a day in WA). But most officers don't calibrate their radar daily. I had two friends who got $150+ tickets last year but got off free in court when they presented that little known technicality.

TOTALLED my car, broke her foot (she was in a cast for like a month), and had like 200 in tickets, towing , blah blah. that shit sucked. you dont need to sell your car, youll miss the hell out of it (i do). just sac up and take responsibility for doin somethin stupid, and learn a lesson.
