Step 1) If you don't know, bring it to a specialist.

Step 2) Stop looking at porn (on your computer at least)

Step 3) Get some antivirus software to avoid future problems

control panel - add/remove programs. Remove the programs you don't want.

install AVG 8.0 from teh internets

install CCleaner from teh internets

install Eusing Registry Cleaner from teh interents

run all those programs then defragment your computer. That should clean things up a bit

If he doesn't know what to do with windows he won't be able to use linux. Just do us all a favor and buy a mac. Macs are for people who are not smart enough to research how to do anything themselves. Or artists...

i fit neither of these two criteria..

but i love my mac

actually, i just love os x, and i tried making a hackintosh, but i had too many problems with my video cards, and some custom written kexts.. blah blah blah.

oh, and just to throw it out there..

i would so buy a microsoft brand computer.. but they dont make any.

i like apple because they make both the computers themselves and the OS, so there's no problems with hardware not working, because its made specifically to work for the OS..

Sarcasm on my part... Man this e-sarcasm is hard to portray. Oh and apple doesn't manufacture anything themselves that I can recall. The processors are intel, graphics are ati or nvidia, hell I doubt they even make the power cords.

oh damn haha. yeah i think they just make the cases and ask companies to fill them with parts that fit (a.k.a. parts that suck).

did i say anyone did? no. but PC companies build computers that are EXPANDABLE. show me a macbook that you can upgrade with bigger, faster, newer parts. while everyone else is out there buying the new Macs, i'm sitting here in my room ordering parts that have already outdated the "new" Macs. and i can have them in my computer in about 10 minutes. and then i can order another new part, and another, and another, every time something better comes out. and i can order it directly from the manufacturer, so it's not specially built to work with machine, it's not specially built to fit in my machine, and it's not specially built to stay in my machine. in fact, i could pull it out of my machine and out it in another machine if i wanted to.

that's how technology works. that's the opposite of how Apple works. but, Apple looks at their products, the people who buy them, and how many they sell, and they say "fuck it. none of our customers even know what an 8-core processor is. we don't need to build a computer with one." and they don't. and i don't care, because i already have one, in my PC.

so the "average" user can decide to buy a decent computer with upgradeable parts for a fair price, or a decent computer with an apple logo on it for a high price.

but, i suppose the popularity of the iPod has shown us that the average consumer doesn't care about quality, and Apple knows it.

if software is all that matters, there are better options for PC, and piracy is free.

which leaves us with aesthetics. and now you know what matters. not hardware, not cost, not software.

Apple didn't change after the 90's, the consumers did.

there is nothing you can do with a Mac that you can't do with a a PC (except spend more money), so no, the hammer vs. screwdriver argument does NOT apply, unless you need your hammer to look really cool. they both do the exact same things, only one costs more and does less.

if Apple made a cold/cough syrup, and called it iSyrup, or MacSyrup, or whatever, and sold it for twice the price of Buckleys, people would buy it. sure, it wouldn't do anything for your cold, but it would make your boogers look like rainbows.

Start window

1. Run "cmd"

a little black box should appear

2.Format C:

this reformats your hard drive so you have a fresh hard drive

alright i may sound like an idiot. but i need help. can anybody tell me an easy way to clear everything except windows. (if possible). so it will be like i have a new computer.??? help please.

reformat. if you need to know how thats what tech forums are for. i don't feel like explaining now. I back up my cpu and do it like once over 7 or 8 months, its like a new cpu every time. just MAKE SURE. THAT. YOU HAVE. ALL OF YOUR DRIVERS AND STUFF TOGETHER BEFOREHAND, cuz searching for drivers for all that crap that it won't even tell you what it is SUCKS. Order like a driver pack from whoever made your computer before you do this. or manually back up all your drivers onto a cd or something. again, need to know how, tech forums.
