Now to ride them!

I told him I'm a snowboarder switching back to skiing and that I'm pretty athletic, and I'd like to go at least 1 or 2 cm +, but he was very adamant about going factory recommended. So I'm not sure how to feel about this situation, but I went with his suggestion. I'm not really skiing park but I plan on landing switch occationally.

Are these going to carve like a mofo compared to say like Moment PBJ's? Every other ski I have is twin tip freeride ski but it's cool cus these are a lil beat up but still good to go, and seem like a great early season/ shitty condition ski where I might be stuck on groomers but now I can bomb it hella hard. Sounds fun. Just got a razor sharp tune on it ?

On two separate occasions I’ve had techs mount at recommended despite carefully measured taped lines and very specific instructions at intake. Like wtf do you care if I come in and want them mounted on the shovel that’s my business FO

There’s usually a section on any ski where the sidecut narrows to it’s minimum width then stays pretty constant for a bit before widening again towards the tail.
So skis will have a “sweet spot” mounting area that differs ski to ski and some manufacturers pick the middle of that range for their mount point like Moment, some pick the mount point near the end of that range like your Fisher/a Faction Prodigy(and you move forward for a bit more playful ski) and some models like a Faction Candide/Black Ops Gamer pick the start of that min width range for a mount point and you move back for a more traditional skier.
Those Fishers will be the most stable, have the best float and carving capability on the line.

I was hesitant, and will probably lose clout for it but whatever, at the end of the day it's 2.75 inches (shorter than the 184) so I'll gladly rip these for a couple seasons and decide where I should go from there.
[tag=241854]@animator[/tag] Dope, that's good to hear. Again, I've been snowboarding since I was 12, so probably best to stick to the party line until I actually ride these and gain some input of my own. At this point the only real question I have is how hard am I gonna faceplant when I try to hit a rail on brand new skis.

14353032:animator said:Pretty deep sidecut on this ski, I know a few people (like [tag=271284]@anders_a[/tag] ) have moved it forward. I skied this one on the line and loved it, I also bumped it forward to about -6 and couldn’t stand it. The sidecut is too apparent and I felt that I was fighting it too hard, it felt very hooky in the tail. Factory Rec is never a bad idea, and that’s a kickass ski.
