I Don't Jib Your Racecourse; Please Don't Race Our Park.

haha about the lesson thing..i saw an instructor talking to his kids about hitting the boxes and then went up to the butter box and tried to carve on it...funniest thing everrr.

Heres the soultion to racers: get a bear trap and set it up on the landing of the jump then hide in the woods and wait for them to come by. After they have been caught slap them in the face

That drives me CRAZY. My friends and i yell "NOT A JUMP" like every time we see someone do that. what funnier is when we yell it at like 50 year old gapers. they come up to us and try to lecture us.. we just turn it around and lecture them.. haha

its a public area, unlike the race courses where they set them up and maintain themselves... all the while paying extra for themselves.

dude, i agree with you. hatin on kids isn't cool. and yes, i do politely ask them to stop cutting people off, ruining the lips of the jumps, and hangin out on the landings. but when they completely disregard anything and everything you say just because you aren't riding 160 atomics while rocking the spandex suit and hockey shorts, it gets a little annoying. i also couldnt agree more when you say ski and have fun. i dont understand all the hating going on between skiers and snowboarders. i prefer two boards; they prefer one. we're all out on the slopes to have a good time, regardless of how we chose to get down the hill. as for sharing it with others, i'm an instructor at my hill and love it when i get to see some kid who has never skied before learn how and i was partly responsible for that happening. as for the shirt idea, its part joke, part truth. who knows if it will ever get made. if it does, i'm sure the racers at my hill won't be too pissed off. i'm friends with some of them anyway...

end response.

so right man. let 'em try! we all know they wish they were cool freeskiers.

unless they ruin your jumps and then go cry to their coaches...

hahaha when i went there on march break, they would "race" thru the park goin of the sides of lips and call me and my friend stupid twintippers

Racers are people too... Now saying that, they carry attitude, just like the parkies carry their own attitudes. The easiest way to deal with them is to talk to the race department. I can only speak for our resort, and we have a dedicated arena for race training. They access that by one chairlift. Today they were winching a run that had just been blown on last week which cut off the mid station access. After seeing them go through the park I emailed the director of the race department, told them the i don't jib your course, don't race our park thing, but explained that it just isn't feasable for them to access their area through our area. They are carrying 4 to 6 times the speed of the users of the park while they are getting to their uphill traverse. I explained it very simple, very nicely and an email was sent out to all the coaches that use the race training arena.

Hate is just a natural part of skiing and snowboarding, and always will be, but when you step back a second and pick and choose the battles you get into, you'll see that some are just a simple conversation away from an easy solution. Just like kids ducking roplines into a closed park. We can yell all we want, which ends up happening alot because people have their ipods in and "can't hear us"... but in the end if we just sit them down and explain why they were being stopped, it turns out great for everyone involved.

racers arent allowed to go off jumps?

youre a fucking retard... as long as they arent standing in the landing, or whipping off the sides of lips it's perfectly fine. we're all just sliding across the snow

at first i didnt like the whole park pass system. but i feel like if mountains had the park pass system it would minimize the rif-raf.

I accidentally hit a boarder with my pole the other day. A whole group of us were weaving in and out of people on a run and my pole just slammed him in the back.

But I can't stand when they go off the sides of jumps onto rails in the park. It makes me want to cut them off when they are practicing their slalom or whatever.

Ahaha i almost got my passed pulled cause i told them the title of this thread. They called a ski patrol and were like he was telling us we couldnt go on this hill then he called like 3 more patrollers and i argued my point and they agreed and said nothing could be done about it. But then i was like what about them snaking us on the jumps? and he goes thats not our problem, so i waited till they were practicing and switched race tucked their course. so were even now.
