you know that curling and bobsled are 2 different things, right? Curling is with the weights on ice you try and slide into the circles to have them closer to the middle than your opponent...Skeleton is headfirst on your stomach on bobsled track.

fuck off man, don't be so prejudice- us brits who do seasons in the alps can ski as well as any other nation. just coz we don't have 14000" mtns in our back gardens doesn't only means that more commitment is needed to get on the snow- if you look at the verbier ride results, two of the top 15 were brits out of a strong euro lineup (a comp previously won by ppl like gaidet and davenport). so don't mock. talk to manwiththehelmet- he's a british pro, see if you can see some of their movies- sketch or dirty laundry. then you'd rethink that comment...

Although you don't know of any top ranked Brits, it doesn't mean that they are shit. Although a lot of people here ski on dryslope, our top skiers live in Europe during the winter, and then either go to glaciers or to New Zealand in the summer. They probably get more snow time in that a lot of you guys, as they ski all year round. Not hearing about them is ignorance on your part, not poor skill on their part.
Oh and yeah i love tea, im drinking some now too, especially PG, that stuff is nice.

this is great- the Brits on here are getting pissed about a joke, some idiots are pointing out that it's not an actual photograph, and we all get to watch someone fuck their shit up on that thing.
as for us being "ignorant" for not ever hearing of any British skiers, maybe if their sponsors promoted them over here in the States or Canada the way they promote people like Jon, then we'd hear about them. it's the same thing with mtn biking. i can rattle off dozens of pro riders from the US or Canada, but i only know of one British rider (Steve Peat) and that's because he has a tendancy to win this little thing called the "world championships". it's not that more riders don't exist or they're bad- it's that they don't get any exposure over here. we aren't "ignorant"- the British skiers need to talk to their sponsors about being promoted worldwide, not just in Europe.

^ Good point about promotion, they do get a lot more exposure in Europe, as that is where many are based. Not many British riders do comps over in the U.S. mand there won't be much knowledge of them over your side, so yes i should retract my comment about ignorance, however as i said before, not knowing about them does not mean that they are shit.
Although there are one or two big sponsors available for the top British riders, in general the companies supporting us do not have as big marketing budgets as the companies supporting hte top U.S. riders. Line UK is very small, and the same goes for the other manufacturers. For British riders to secure a big sponsor usually means that they have to get onto the European factory teams. This means a lot of world class competition. We have a few riders on these teams, but not many. Sorry for ranting haha.
