I broke a ski in a week

all over the forum i've noticed quite a few people posting how they or some unnamed friend or cousin broke their new salomon, tm, or whatever in a week.... it seems to me that in my, although limited, exp that its the situation that will snap a ski. As in what will snap this ski will most likley break any diffrent ski. But this hearsay shooting around the web is preventing good products from getting out on the slopes.

Now i'm not saying that certain edges arnt cheaper than others or some skis don't delam more so than others but thats why warrantys exist. Most ski companies have pretty good products but quality control can never be 100%. And plz take your kit to a quality** shop, alot of head aches could be prevented if the tech had just tapped the mounting holes, or simply used the right material to fix a busted up base.

i guess thats just my two cents.....

i think its kind of good, yeah all skis are breakable, but looking at forums we can see which skis break more often. then we can buy a ski that we think will be more durable if that is an issue

im afraid of the butter zone on my new invaders, makes me nervous, but at the same time, very excited

the invaders will be hard with the monocap design at tip and tail through the butter zone

the tms should have at least done away with the aluminum caps and 4 different edges and gone with 1, it is an obvious upgrade that makes that ski so cheap.

i delamed my MSPs last year in 2 days on snow..cracked an edge and it delamed the whole side of the ski...i sent em back and got a new pair tho so hopefully it wont happen again this year

what was the point of posting that it is a good idea for a thread because he is right in most situations any ski will break no matter what company makes it he just doesnt want people hatin on salomon and what not.

I care a lot about my skis and i don't want them to break. so I watch them mount my skis. I only have 2 but 1,s for work and the other for play.

i broke my PE's in one day just from clearing a jump perfectly.....they just broke, that was after i got a new pair from breaking the first pair of PE's

Yeah, even though he's a newbie, this is a very good argument. He's trying to say that people jump on the "hate band wagon" all the time. Like how everyone and their mother hates TMs. I know for a fact that half of the poeple who talk shit on TMs have never seen them "blow up" let alone ride them at all. I'm not going to say they are good or bad... BECAUSE I REALLY HAVE NO FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE with TMs. It literally only takes one bad experience with a product to convince every little kid on here that it's a bad prodcuct. If you don't have first hand experience with something, don't make up stories like you do. example:

My brother was out on his new _____________ for the first day of the season. On his 5th run through the park his ski just snapped on the landing.

Now a story like this, may or may not be true... but i'd going to guess it's bullshit 80% of the time. You will be much more credible if you drop their NS name or whatever (providing that he/she is a real person and is on NS), so if people really want first hand knowledge they can get it.
