I am so pumped for the Simpsons movie

What? Nope, that still doesn't make sense. Fuck thats got to be the most retarded post in the world.
 
I'm not expecting this to be an amazing movie because, there hasn't been and real good T.V. to movies before. But saying that, this could be a first.
 
nah not really, fox gave our very shitty, 2 screen movie theater a new screen. There was a lot of people on main street, ben & jerrys had a special ice cream, magic hat made a brew with a springfield logo, and VT Teddy bear had a special simpsons bear. The town tried to captitalize on the situation, but all in all did not have a enough time to prepare. It was still cool shit, but I have to say on the premier day, there were 3 showings, the 2:00 (vip only) then 4, 6, and 8. I had the 8:00 showing and I swear to god they didn't pick up any shit in the theater after the previous 3 showings.

And by the way, it was pretty good, not really a big simpsons guy, went to it mainly/only because it premiered in my small hometown, but there were some laughs
 
lets not kid ourselves, this simpsons have been smearing their own legacy for the past what? 6 seasons??? i mean you look at some of the witty little details that made the classics classic.

all the recent episodes dont have any soul put in them, the jokes are lame. its just become too gimicky for me nowadays.
 
im very skeptical about the movie. most tv shows turned movie are usually quite lame. This one is not going to even be an hour and a half in length (and i thought 300 was cutting it too short at just under 2 hours) so im not sure how its all supposed to be theatrical quality from what ive seen in trailers and shit.
 
well its unlikely that many people here have really outgrown the simpsons, as the core demographic is 18-25 yearolds.
 
Exactly man! All the older episodes had some sort of meaning or lesson, and had inside jokes or little things about current events and politics you needed to know to fully understand the joke. Like that episode where homer runs to be the government garbage person, U2 is in it and they go to Moe's and one of the memebers of U2 says can I come? And they all look at him, that's because he used to have a drinking problem. Stuff like that made the show great. The show now sucks so much shit, it's just random shit trying to be funny but it's fucking lame, I hope to god the movie is good, but I really really doubt it, the trailers look lame as fuck, more of that random bullshit.

im not a huge simpsons fan and the commercials seem like the movie will be tryin too hard to be like the old shows and it is way too hyped.
 
i dunno i think its been hyped to much and could be dissapointing, but regardless i will go see it and it could very well be kick ass.
