How to lucid dream tonight!

I've remembered a dream when I was in a park throwing doublecorks but pretty much flying when I took off the lip. It was weird as fuck. I would hit the booter, but fly over the landing and land like 300 feet down the hill but gently onto my feet. The best part is, I teleported there. In your dream world you close your eyes and do a little spin and just imagine a new place.

So yes and no, it does feel like your awake in a way but you also have to be conscious your dreaming. In this dream, after I hit the jump, I figured out I was dreaming and was able to throw myself around on jumps with 0 conciquences. T'was quite fun

Did it last night a couple of times. Pretty some a little scary. I was actually making conscious decisions about what I would have wanted to do (leave ky apartment, walk down the street, go to a bar, etc). Then would wake up to finde myself lying perfectly still. Took a little bit to get my body to start moving again (must have been some kind of sleep paralysis) but it was pretty cool. Never got too deep because it was my first time trying, but i think I'll go in to the dream a little longer and see what I can really do. Also after you lucid dream, it's really hard to specify what's reality or not after you wake up, especially if you tired. At least thats what it was like for me....

I agree with the person who said that waking up suddenly while in the middle of a dream, and going back to sleep immediately is a good way to get into a lucid dream.

My alarm goes off initially about 1 hour before I have to wake up, and it's right after the alarm goes off and I go back to sleep that I can usually get back into the dream I was previously having, only be aware that it is a dream.

To the person who posted above that says he can just close his eyes in his dream and make his surroundings something totally different-- like inception-- I don't think this is very easy to do. I can get to where I'm making my dream go in a certain way, or I make my own decisions, but I can't typically change the dream scape. I think this is because this is what we're used to-- IRL we can change what we do and make our own decisions, but we can't suddenly have a mountain turn into an ocean-- so getting your brain to work this way and manipulate the scenery in your dream has got to be one of the hardest things to do.

It is nice when you have a skiing dream though, I'm so damn good in my dreams.

Seirously, try it in a dream next time if you can. Close your dream eyes, make everything go black, maybe do a dream spin and imagine a new place. It is very possible. This is dreaming were talking about, anything is possible. You can do an insane amount of weird things. You can create anything you want, you can create a machine that created anything you want.

This probably was already said, but check your pulse every hour. In your dream your pulse will not be as steady as it is while you are away, then you will be able to realize you are dreaming.

Also put a black dot on your palm. Look at it and ask yourself if you are dreaming. But really think about it every time you ask during the day. When you look in your dream the dot will either not be there or you will realize something isnt right and you are dreaming.

I flew through walls last week in my dream. /claim

The whole sleep paralysis thing didnt work for me, i could not sit still long enough although i did have one decently lucid dream where i was on a buoying 747 and my old fat ass manajor from wendys was flying it and kept doing barrel roles (im a pilot) so this was freaking me the fuck out as i could see we were loosing lots of altitude with each roll. But i just sat there watched out the window the whole time till we smoothly crashed into the top of a mountain. When i got out of the plane everyone was ok and at the bottom of the mountain was The Red Cross lol so we walked down the mountain and got checked out. then i was all of a sudden back in the 747 with a new pilot at the wheel and it seemed like a house on the inside with all of my family and a few friends aboard.

The second dream i had was me being in Pittsburgh a lot of little "sub" dreams went on during this one but they were all in Pitt, most of the time i was just watching trains roll by. I would see a bunch of blank ones and start thinking of how bad i wanted to see some "whole cars" roll by and eventually they would lol that was pretty cool. and at one point i was in the matrix some how but Morpheus was some really hot mixed girl, i also went to a few bars i go to every time im in Pittsburgh.

I also just started keeping a dream journal, Ive wanted to do this for a long time. The only thing that kept me from it was my older brother. He use to really be into lucid dreaming and had kept his own dream journal, but something happened that scared him so bad he never wanted to remember another dream and he shredded his dream journal and everything. this was years ago and i still to this day cant get him to tell me what happened.

i have lucid dreams occasionally, but they are few and far between. I tried the sleep paralysis method last night and it was nuts. i had been drinking, so that made laying still real easy. After about 5 minutes, my fingers actually began to hurt, but i just stayed still through it. Then my toes fell asleep, and that kind of moved up through my body for 10 minutes. My breathing slowed down, and I felt myself sink into my bed. I didn't quite get auditory hallucinations, but living in a dorm, all the noises around me (pipes knocking, people talking, cars driving by) were overwhelmingly loud. The whole time I was just thinking about skiing and the northeast actually getting snow. I finally was able to fall asleep, and when I began to dream, it was the same lucid dreaming experience as I've had before. I basically walked out of my dorm room and I was standing on top of this amazing ski run, with waist deep blower powder. It was basically total sensory recall, I even had the feeling of spinning in the air, and I've only had that feeling when actually skiing.

tl;dr- It worked for me, but I was drunk, and the auditory shit before you fall asleep sucks.

running the risk of sounding like an attention whore here, but I can have real Os in my dreams. Think most girls can? ladies?

Or then, like they said in Inception. Try to remember how you got there. If it's dream it will be hard to imagine how you got there. Almost every dream I remember in the morning is lucid, like I know I'm asleep and can awake if bad things happen. But too scared to try sleep paralysis

i got it to work 2 or 3 times last night for about 5 min per dream. id fall asleep and realize i was dreaming. then open my eyes and be in a complete state of paralysis. all i could do was swallow and think. then id dive right back into the same dream and do it again. not exacly lucid but the paralysis worked and i could snap out of a dream...

try the MILD method or the WILD method. they're lengthier than OP's process, but I just tried sleep paralysis and its scared me shitless. I'm never trying that again. It's literally terrifying there was a large crab-like spider on my wall behind me but I couldn't see it and then there was a black figure staring at me from a stairwell and then my ex gf walked up (trying hard as hell to fuck her in lucid dream) with her new bf and she got fucked on my desk next to my bed.

Apparently im not over her haha

while your in a lucid dream could you try and control your self into dreaming your trying to get into a lucid dream and have a double lucid dream?

I suffer from Sleep paralysis 4 or 5 times a month, I normally get it as I'm waking up though. I do normally fall back to sleep before properly waking up and do have vivid dreams. however, Lucid dreaming is really difficult to learn how to do. Most people will find it hard to experience sleep paralysis, which isn't really enjoyable anyway to say the least, and even if they do, using it as a platform to launching into full blown lucid dreaming is extremely difficult. What will help though will be to keep a dream journal, this will allow you to start recognising certain triggers or themes and in turn, will help to to realise when you are dreaming. The other side to the same coin is to become more aware of reality in daily life. An easy way of doing this is to draw a spot on the palm of your hand, if you check this every so often through the day over a few weeks, you should find a simple way of distiguishing between you being awake and awake in your dreams.

is it possible/usual to dream "normally" like random shit once in a while or more than not after you "mastered" lucid dreaming?

Incorrect. I literally had the light switch thing happen to me the night after I watched waking life.. totally mind fucked by that dream.

I've been able to control my dreams for a long time. it's fucking awesome. But i'm wondering if i have a shit ton of children in some far off dimension somewhere, from fucking the shit out of countless girls...

Waking life is sick

Also tried this last night, could not for the life of me stay still for more than 5 minutes, 10 at most.

Still going to try until I get it, porn dreams here I come aww yeeah, no pun intended

he might have killed someone in his dream. this generally has some crazy real life affects on people. bottom line dont try to kill people in your dreams.

Tried it a few times and on like the 5th time i achieved sleep paralysis opened my eyes and there was a goblin sitting on my chest clawing my face with a horse in the background and i couldn't move. Scariest shit ever.

To those of you who say you can manipulate your dream environment: How are you accomplishing this? I've been lucid dreaming since I was in 4th grade and I always just accepted it as a fact that you couldn't change things about the environment.

i kinda tryed it last night, i did what the OP said and after about ten minutes i felt a weight on my chest and a urge to move, i didnt and soon it felt like i was spining and i saw misty colors on my eye lids, befor i opened my eyes i fell asleep, can someone tell me how close i was to being lucid?

You have to be more conscious of the dream. Just realizing that it is a dream and accepting that fact isn't enough. Start writing down all your dreams right when you wake up. Repetition is key. The more you try to remember dreams and right them down the more details you will begin to recall. Once you start remembering your dreams more vividly then lucid dreaming becomes easier and easier and manipulating the dream does as well.

Last night my ski jacket attacked me. Then told me, "I have good ventilation."

This is so much cheaper than burning 1

Holy fuck. I smoked 3 bowls of BC Big Bud, then tried this shit. Scariest thing of my life. I had all this shit happening around me, and because I was so high, I couldn't remember that I was dreaming, so some freaky shit was happening and I couldn't wake myself up. After, I mellowed out a bit, fucked Katy Perry, then woke up at 4AM. I recommend this sober, but it was the most bi-polar experience of my life.

so i read this thread yesterday and thought about lucid dreaming before i went to bed. I was pretty smashed, fell asleep on the couch downstairs with my phone in my pocket. When I woke up, i was in a bed upstairs next to my homie with my phone plugged into the charger. I have no recollection of any of this, apparently I had sleepwalked out of the couch, climbed up a fuckin ladder to the second story, plugged in my phone and hopped into the bed. My friend was talking to me, but i would just respond with grunts and moans. Never sleepwalked before in my life, don't know if it was thinking about lucid dreaming that did it or the booze
