How to land switch and not drag your hands

Tighten your core muscles as you hit the landing, it will help you to absorb the landing with your legs and stop you breaking at the waist.

(1)work on your switch skiing(2) try to change from normal to switch while going pretty fast(3)tense your arm muscles while landing

this. Look back up the hill and keep your back straight, don't look down at the landing - your feet will get there.

In my opinion it's all about how you initiate the rotation on your 540. it makes you spin kinda wird and you land with your face on the landing (leaning uphill). tell me if I'm wrong... try to feel your shins on the front of the boots before you jump to make sure you're standing straight before you jump. Then, you have to spot the landing early in the air so it's easier to land good. The rest of what everything told you about tensing you abs and core muscles is great advice too. More pop wasn't stupid at all either

so much bad advice it is making my head hurt.... just PRACTICE. the more you get used to landing switch, the more you compensate for the forces of landing switch. its natural progression. don't listen to this bullshit of getting stiffer skis or where to look when you land. keep doing your fives and eventually your body will be used to it.

at windells i heard molly aguirre telling a kid to flex his abs while spinning. i think id work for landing switch too.

pop so that you land perfectly and do it a ton and you will get good at it its not hard it just takes a little time

Phew, i thought i had lost hope in NS. Obviously you aren't landing in the afterbang position.

For real though, spot your landing, get a grab in there to stabilize yourself, and then stomp the shit out of the landing.

When your going up the lip keep a wide stance with your shins pressed firmly against the tongue of your boots. When you spin keep your core tight. When you land keep your eyes up, looking towards the top of the hill. Stomp that shit and ride out clean.

i think dragging the hands is not from not knowing how to ride switch but from landing with you weight over your noses. But yes practice them enough and you will start to land in a better position.

If your alwyas afterbangin like you should be it wouldnt happen!

Bend your knees when you land.
The hand drag is caused by landing switch with your legs locked and then, because something has to give under the impact, you end up breaking forward at the waist.
Pretty simple really, just focus on absorbing the landing impact with your legs, and the hand drag will be gone.

wrong. go ahead and try to land off a 5ft. jump with your legs locked. see what happens. dragging your hands would be the least of your worries.

landing with your legs locked will cause an extremely badly bruised femur and an even worse bruised tibia. i know from experience. do not do it. i got out lucky for what happened. i almost broke my femur.

leave the lip with some shin pressure and when you spot the landing focus on hitting the snow with your whole foot (not just landing on your toes), maybe even focus on landing on your heels. bend your knees upon impact and you're set.

jeaa will haha. i used to have this problem. be strong when you land and spot the shit out of your landing when you're forward just before you land.

Where you head goes the rest of your body follows. Look up at the top of the jump when you land and your head will not go down.

this will help some, i would all so suggest you work of just 180s to get the feel for landing switch with out all the motion then work on 5s more!

or your could just after beang the shit out of the jump and not fix any thing about waht yoour doing exsept keep your hands tucked in!

here's a good one, try doing them on rollerblades cause you certainly can't put your hands down and not fall while skating. otherwise, land leaning back a little more,
