How to end Police Brutality in America?

I'm not saying that cops don't go on power trips, but the one time I ended having to go to court for an open container violation was probably because I thought I hadn't done anything wrong and was being a smart ass.

A cop is a cop, not a jury, judge or someone else that you might want to convince that you are innocent. The overwhelming majority of times, if you just act sincerely respectful, you will receive the least amount of hassle. They can always haul you in for being uncooperative, but that means headaches for them. I'm just saying that it isn't worth it to argue with a cop.

Also, cops are aware that everyone has a smart phone with a video feature. They know that footage of them is going to be scrutinized. The cops that are doing the stuff that you are describing have to be a minority and they would have to be super careful.

I would however be extra careful at festivals and places where the city hires and deputizes a bunch of part-time cops for an event. I've seen those guys beat the crap out of people.
 
I know I should have elaborated... Your so quick to judge. The confrontation was not started by my friend. I am not going to post the entire story because i'm not gonna waist my time. MY FRIEND WAS NOT IN THE RIGHT FOR HITTING A COP I KNOW THAT. But if you would have seen his pictures from the hospital you would have no problem denying the police took it way too far. He was beaten, then knocked out, then beaten some more. You probably think im just some punk kid and I have some predisposition against cops don't you? I come from a long line of law enforcement and have nothing but respect for public servants.

For what it's worth, there is only one cop in my family, and he's my cousin that I only see once or twice a year. I just think it's hilarious when kids like you vilify cops at every opportunity based on one experience, despite the fact that usually the person getting "brutalized" is resisting an arrest that was made for a legitimate reason.

Your friend attacked (or resisted by hitting) a police officer and kicked him in the nuts you fucking moron.

YOU are the problem with the country. YOU are so stupid it literally makes me want to puke. YOU are a prime example of what I waste thousands of dollars on each year in our education system. Go read a fucking book and come back when you aren't an embarrassment to society.
 
Maybe they did go too far, maybe they didn't. It only takes one well aimed blow to make a nasty looking picture. He resisted, fought, and kicked someone in the nuts. He proved that he wasn't going to go quietly and raised his hand and said "I would like you to use those beating sticks you're given for irate citizens such as me!". Cops complied.

This isn't the kind of fucked up stuff we're talking about in this thread, this sounds more and more like a legitimate use of police force rather than 5 cops beating up a 40 year old women "because she was resisting" or something like that.
 
shouldn't you know that swinging on a cop, and then kicking one of them in the nads usually will lead to a stern ass whooping? seems like a fine situation to use force. your friend attacked them. get a grip.

you have no idea what I do. In fact sitting from my couch here, I can see at least 3 pieces of government property that I have personally destroyed.
