How much trouble can i get in

i have a unregestiered .22 revolver....if i were to be in a car while it got pulled over and for some reason the car gets searched and the cops find a unregestered .22 revolver how much trouble can i get into?......for the record i already know that i cant spell the greatest
 
You can get in a fair bit of trouble if they were to find out it was an unregistered weapon. im not implying this but if you have drugs and a weapon, get ready to go to prison if caught.
 
no current/prior problems with law and its not there yet...i was deciding to go target shooting with it next weekend for fun i just wanted a heads up on what happens if i do get pulled over
 
uhh don't drive like an idiot and don't do anything dumb, then they won't have a reason to search your car.

keep that shit in a locked glove box.
 
im getting the gun from my grandmother....and ill use it for killing skunks during the summer when they get bad around my houes
 
Owning or using a gun not listed in the registry is a crime with an

extremely harsh punishment.

it appears that you are looking at a Class A misdemeanor(up to 1 year in

jail, and a fine of up to $1000), which is better than a felony charge,

I guess.

what country do u live in? (OP)...
if its america, probs not that much...they will most likely seize the gun and hold it until you get it registered (i think?)...or worst case scenario they destroy it and you get something like unregistered firearm, holding a concealed weapon, etc.
the main thing you need to worry about is when they find an unregistered gun in your car, they are going to want to see what else you have at your house. by law, then can then come to your house and search the premises to see if there is anything else unregistered/illegal.

 
for the record i have a .22 because it is very unlikley that i will kill skunks with my 30-30 winchester lever action rifle because of where i live...there are assholes that have reported me for shooting my 12 guage before turkey season figureing out where my prefered range is....if i want people on the internet to think im tough i would tell them that i am in current posession of an illegal fully automatic ak-47...(WHICH I DO NOT HAVE).....and besides your prolly some fat kid sitting on the computer talking about shit he has no fucking clue about because he has no life......and i admit i may not be the fittest person or have the best life, guns, clothes or any of that worthless shit....i have family who respect me,who teach me, and when i see them al lthat other worldly shit dont matter cuz there the type of people that i wanna be........i may be a hick,redneck,or anyother slang word you can think of for a hunting farmer but if it became a contest between you and me surviving out in the woods for a month i would survive while you would barley know what to do......i take my .22 with me out in the woods cuz its a light universal hunting tool.....good for rabbits, squirrels, and almost every other small game you can think of......i dont need people on the internet to think im some rebel, or hot-shot cuz im nothing close to that

thx i know im fat i weigh like 159-170 ish...and i cant get the damn gun registered cuz im only 15 and you have to be 21 in my area to purchase/register a gun...and im not the person to fuck around with about guns im pissed enough already that obama is raising the price/taxes on guns/ammo....and marking all the ammo so it can be traced that is encroachment on the 2nd ammendent of the united states of america....THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS

oh and they have tried to search my car for guns before, I told them no and they backed off. They can't search your car without your permission with out a warrant or if they can't see anything

Why not have your parents at least start to get it registered, and if you are pulled over, so you don't have to be carrying an unregistered firearm?
 
I'm not on a high horse, He told me I was a fat little boy so I corrected him, not stating that I was 'hot' but above average of which i'm usually told. I'm in no way against guns seeing as I go shooting often and hunting with my family; I just don't like unregistered guns because I don't like poaching or crime
 
Why dont you just register it? it's not hard to do...

If not, just put it in the trunk or something, and dont give them a reason to search you.
 
if i were to take the gun to a shop and try to get it regestered it would be about a year before i got it back...and then i would have to do it again when i turn of age its just a waste of time right now
 
call the sherrif's department and get that shit registered

i think theres a cheap and easy way since iy was a gift and was never registered previously

Why don't you get it registered? Under 21?
Also you can get in a shitload of trouble but it will vary drastically state to state. To my knowledge there is no distinction between a .22 and other handguns in the eyes of the law, so that won't help. If you are under 18 you won't really get in much trouble at all though because its pretty hard to get in trouble when you are a minor.
