How much ski is too much ski?

Title pretty much says it all. I'm 5'8", 145lbs, and still growing. I live out west and I'll be skiing pow as much as possible, but I still want a ski that can handle the park. I'm looking at skis 90 and up at the waist. I just want to know when will the ski be too wide/ heavy/ soft to handle the park.

I'm about the same height/weight as you and I rock the Liberty Helix (105 underfoot) in the park all the time.

Moment Reno Rockers?

possibly too much of a park ski, but they do have an underfoot of 92 and are rockered, so they could probably handle pow

Alright. Because I mainly want to shred pow than huck jumps in the park. I was thinking about the Salomon Shogun or K2 Obsethed a little bit. The Shogun is wayyyyyy stiffer than the K2's.

Would I still be able to easily land/ride switch on it? I'm a pretty new skier, so I haven't really tried many different skis. What are the pros/cons of a softer or harder flex?

Shoguns have a raised tail more than a full twin tip. Could you land switch on it? Sure, would you want to land switch on these all the time? Probably not. Seth is better for this due to the full twin tail.

Stiffer is better for skiing hard and fast. When you going mach 10, stiff skis give you more support, more energy transfer, and less flapping and vibrations. You'll be able to push yourself more on a stiffer stick because they are better for hard skiing. If you buy a super stiff ski like moment M1's ect you are pretty much forced to have good form or the ski will kick your ass. If your not on top if it, it's gonna let you know about it pretty dam fast.

Soft skis are easier to ski. You can get away with bad form more easily. You don't need to drive the ski. It's also easier for butters ect and are often more fun for jibbing and messing around. However, if your doing jumps ect they can wash out easily on landings.

It's all about compromise. Whats more important to you? If you have one ski, something like the seth is pretty well rounded.

well stiffer skis like to go fast in most cases... but the obsethed is still pretty soft compared to the shogun and seth has no trouble going fast haha. Ive seen people ski the obsethed everyday in slush ice pow crud, just everything. I would go obsethed just because its cheaper and its not a first year ski so some of the quirks are worked out.

Yeah. I also like the Kung Fujas of ON3P Jeronimos. So many choices. I think it's just going to come down to how much I want to spend.
