How did you get your poles?

Cut my dad's 70s poles. Grips with hockey tape and fat shoelaces for straps. Big baskets and almost proper length for pow.

I also bought a pair or Line Pins out of a clearance bargain bin in my local shop for 10 dollars because one was longer. Cut it and put the grip back on. Boom, park poles.
 
Bought telescoping poles a year ago. Planned on using them for park and powder... Used them for a week, landed switch, snapped them. Will never pay 60 bucks for poles again. 15 bucks is the most I will ever pay for poles now.
 
I was all about the jr rental poles, until one day I drove two hours to ski down a mountain and I noticed I forgot my stolen jr rental poles. So I walked around the base of the mountain looking for some freebies. It was bat country I couldn't possibly get away with it. So I went to the rental shop and there was a sign on the door that said in CAPS NO FREE POLES HERE! I thought to myself Tanner Hall must be behind this evil sign, and went back to my car. I opened my trunk and noticed there was 2 empty cases of beer bottles. I went back to town and returned them for a few bucks. on my way back there was a hitch hiker looking to get a lift back to the mountain, I pulled over, even though he smelt worse then Harlout's touque I gave him a lift. He said i'll buy you coffee for the ride. I said give me the 2$ instead. We arrived back at my place of snow skiing, kicked the smelly hippy to the curb and went straight to the pro shop. I skipped all the man sized poles and went straight for the jr poles. The sales person looked at me weird as im 7.8 ft tall. I found some atomic jr poles on sale for $9.99. So I put my pennies and loonies and toonies together and bought my first pair of poles. They aren't the same since I payed good money for them. I can no longer ski the same. I'm to worried about braking my 9.99 jr poles. There fore they are on kijiji and ebay as we speak. I want my $10.13 back. I will steal a new set on opening day. Most likely from a 11 year old boy who can barely walk in his ski boots. Why you ask? because I'll get mad respect from my homies in the park when I tell them I stole these poles. The amount of respect will be crazy, it will push me to finally land the most futuristic of spins and go pro.
 
Pair of fiberglass or something cross country poles, found in a dumpster in madison wi. Cut them in hald in my dorm and wrapped them in electrical tape. Almost got kicked out of indian head because they were "illegal" and had no basket. Bought a pair of real poles in the shop the day after.
 
illegal?!?!?!?!??!1 stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard, what happens if you show up with no poles?
 
They were those pointy cross contry ski poles with no baskets. He described in detail how I could accidentally stab someone with them.
 
Someone left a pair beside the hill map at the top of a run. They stayed there for hours and no one grabbed them, so I did just before close.
