How did you get your poles?

Got a steal on some Line Blends at some pro sale swap in Boulder, had the bro throw in some trekkers and short ol Line poles. stoked on package deals!

Everything that is wrong with the mountains these days, summed up by one OP.

The mountain sports community used to be about respecting/interacting with nature and having as much fun as possible while you were doing it... unfortunately, the progression has gone towards judgmental little shit heads who think its cool to steal peoples shit while they eat and make fun of anyone who doesn't ski like they do

What happened to community? Respect? Common decency? glad everyone else is firing back at this kid too, cuz this shit is unacceptable

there is this spot in vancouver where homeless people leave random free shit and i found some perfect condition 1970s poles with a bright yellow plastic grip and hand guard and a blue pole tube

won a pair of short k2 park poles in some random freeskier contest, won a pair of scott/empire poles at a ski movie premier at ubc (shouts to napier), and got some sample touring poles for free as well

Had a snowboarder homie move out of CO and he left me his first gen ARV's and some brand new black diamond telescoping poles (which is dope because i ride alot of powder and do a bit of touring) I work at a shop too so if i'm just taking park laps I grab some tiny rental poles.

A friend gave me his awesome green and orange scott pros a few years ago because they were too short for him.

If I ever saw someone stealing anything of mine, I'd simply kick their fucking face in with my cold, hard boots. I've got a lot of pent up rage from having my expensive shit stolen so the first person I catch will seriously be on the receiving end of a painalanche.

Lost mine dropping a cliff and eating it, hiked up and searched for about 15 minutes decided I was wasting valuable skiing time so went back to the lodge grabbed a pair of rentals and kept them. I grinded the logo and paint job of the mountain off and then spray painted them black. Favourite poles I've ever owned now, if I lose them I'll just grab another pair.

Oh and I left the other pole I didn't lose at the shop to repay 50% haha. Those poles I bought at a shop for $5 or something.

too bad ODI bike grips are like $20.

Ski swap are epic.

1. OG armada clip on grips and scott poles for $3

2. Black Diamond flip-lock adjustables with pow baskets for $5

I have a pretty sweet hookup for free lightly used ODI grips. I have more than I know what to do with.

but thats not the point. you can clearly use any brand bike grip, hell just recycle old ones you already have.

bought one pair, for my other pair I just used some old as fuck poles I used when I was like 10years old. Those poles are probably older than me...

Some asshole racer ran over my skis so I followed her to the rack and when she put them up on the rack, seconds later i slid by and snatched them. Best ones I've snatched yet.

I have more than enough poles.

Original Joystick Spicollis - Bought from Joystick way back when they first started. Don't use them as one is a bit bent but nostalgia prevents me from getting rid of them.

Royal Shaft Carbons - Won at a Theory 3 premiere many many moons ago. Inbounds groomer day poles because they're the only ones without pow baskets.

Joystick JP Pros - Bought from a shop on sale for $50. Best poles ever, mainly use these.

Komperdell TI Carbon adjustables - Bought from Sierra Trading Post for $65. Got for touring.

Joystick Pep adjustables - Currently shipping to me from Freeski Brands for $50. Got for no apparent reason except that I like 'em.

has anyone else wished that someone would steal your poles at the top of the mountain, just so you would get to chase them down and tackle them at high speed?

Stole a bike from a child, tore off the bike grips. Found the same child on the ski slopes. Stole his poles, ripped off the baskets, and threw the poles in the woods. Cut his bike frame into poles. Slapped on the bike grips and baskets. Made the rest of the bike into a unicycle. Got sponsored at unicycling. Not sure where the poles ended up.

Really? Not only do you have no decency and steal from kids, but you don't even have the slightest moral compass to prevent you from bragging about it online for anyone and everyone to see?

Stealing is wrong, period.

That being said, got hooked up with some Joysticks from a team rider, can't remember who. Joystick was then awesome and even gave me new baskets when I needed them. Yay joystick

plus now with them fancy poles you can do a racer tuck for extra speed into jumps. And miss your grab cause the slalom guards got in the way...

Surely everyone know you get them to chuck in some poles when you buy a pair of skis!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure you could even do it at an online shop, just shoot them an email asking for their cheapest set of poles, they'll probably chuck em in so they don't lose any bussiness.

I have a friend who literally took 2 old golf clubs, cut the club head off, and just used the shafts of the golf clubs for poles. #nolie #streetlyfe

stealing poles isn't cool unless they are rentals. If i paid for some poles and some little fuck took them, id be rip shit!

my poles that I love I found in my garage. apparently they'd been there for 10 or so years. they're titanium-kevlar-carbon fiber or some high tech sciency shit.

another 3 pairs: I was at the dump and a guy was unloading ski stuff to the dump-pile.

me: "yo, wussup G, you mind if i take those off your hands."

him: "absolutely, I'd rather they go to a shredder than get shredded"

me: "wordbeans. stay fresh and keep it real."

*disclaimer: the words and names may have been changed to protect the integrity of the event.

I bought them. I guess that make me ridiculously extravagant to some people, I even have more than one pair, madness I know.
