theres been allott of busted threads latley so i was jus wondering something....

i graduated a fiew years ago so my facts are not completly straight.... but...... how is it that all these kids get in trouble on the weekends and the school is able to takes action diciplining for somthing off campus....

arnt school and your personal life seperate..... this shit is rediculous and it completly ruins any seperation between school and home... its very invading and there has to be some limits on how much a school can take action/ be involved in...

any body been suspended or gotten in trouble cuz of somthing that completly happend off campus and off school hrs?

what happend?

man thats fuckin weird. I know my friend davide got kicked out of his school for being caught with weed by his billets but he was going to a 30,000$ a year private school so this new shit is fucked up
 
i once spent an hour talking to a principal in the office because a teacher saw my friend and i playing with airsoft guns on a saturday about 10 miles away from school. one of my friends was suspended for beating up another student on a friday night at a party.

it's bullshit, they shouldn't be allowed to punish students for what they do when they aren't at school, they should leave that up to the parents or the police.
 
i hate that too man. it pisse's me the fuck off when school interfere's with your personal life and suspends you for doing something that was not at school or school related. Its fucking bullshit. I havnt even had a personal experience but it still makes me mad.

I know a couple friends who have had experiences like this though, mostly from convo's on msn. one that happened a couple weeks ago was one grils called another girl a fucking bitch and a slutty fucking whore, and the other one said shit back( it wasnt cyber bullying, they were both saying equally hurtfull things. they are just kinda enemies) and then they both got suspended for a week. like wtf.
 
yeah def. for awhile my school had "dating rule" that if you were dating and you touched the other person in school you couldnt see each other outside of school. They would conscent with your parents and no confrentation what soever.
 
wow, i've never heard of some of these rules, but it seems like they would lose a law suit.

when i was attending public schools I got into quite a bit of trouble, but I was always happy the school took control of the situation instead of the state.

for instance: one time in high school some kid tried to run over me in the parking lot, literally. i jumped on his hood and held on until he stopped and shot me off his hood in the area where the buses picked everyone up in the front of the school. After that I started stomping in his roof. He tried to fight me on school property and things got broken up. As he drove away I ran to my friends car and began to chase him off campus. I finally caught up to him at a red light a few miles away from the school, ran up to the driver side of his car and pounded his face in.

well the next day at school i was pulled out of class by the police and they told me i was under arrest for assault. I explain the story and they said i could press vehicular manslaughter charges on this kid. i told them to tell the kid and his parents that and they dropped the charges. however, instead they told the principle to suspend us.

so rather than court costs and the legal pains of that situation, I was happy to take a 5 day break from school.

but that's just one story....i have so many. damn i was a terrible kid, but kids jsut so you know. you don't need a high school degree to goto college. if you'r over 19 you can attend any university through their continueing education programs. that's how i got into CU with a GED and 4 years full of F's from high school. Now I'm a 3.3 gpa student with one year left on an accounting degree.
 
nothing like that happened to me but i have so many stories. i was also a horrible kid. but once i got to highschool i somehow magically matured. I never did crazy rediculous things ( well once in grade 5 but i really dont want to type some long ass story on how i suposidly 'brought a bomb to school") but i usually just got in trouble because i didnt care what teachers said. unlike most kids at that age i was not scared what so ever to talk back and hated it when adults bossed me around.

It still happens though, my little inner "badness"( i guess you could call it that) surface's everyonce in a while with teachers i do not agree with. lol, i have never in the history of my highschool/ middle school classe's ever got along with a religion teacher...NEVER. I have a bad one this year too( im in grade 10 now)
 
holy fuck that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. I actually WANT my school to do that so i can laugh in their fucking face's when they have no control on who i see outside of school and who i talk, call or text.

If my school had that rule i would just grab one of my friends( were really close...its a she just incase your worried) and make out with her right infront of the principal.

but honestly that is just fucked.
 
Some kid from my school took a shit on a subway (train not sandwich place) and got kicked out cus he had the school's homecoming shirt on that said our school's name.

But, how stupid could you possibly be that you pull down your pants and shit on a subway seat? And while wearing a shirt with the name of the school on it nonetheless. And he was on the subway closest to our school.

On another note: it is bullshit how schools interfere with personal life. My school doesn't do this much, they still do it to an extent, but I go to a private school so I think that the parents and alumni would flip shit if they started interfering too much.
 
I remember in middle school the vice principal would look through kid's myspaces and suspend them for that. WTF? principals are trying to run a dictatorship
 
yo this kid at my school texted this girl and told her she was a bitch,(while he was at home) and the next day she showed the principal and he got an in school suspesion, a phone call home about how worried they about his bullying, and the principal actually gave him a 20ft restraining order from the girl?

what the fuck is with that
 
i got ISS for tripping a kid on his bike half way thru the summer.... what i would like to know is how the school knows so much
 
Schools frequently overstep their authority, but overall, I think its a good idea to have outside of school behavior noted and acted upon.

i got a consumption ticket last march, at my privite school you get put on contract, pissed in a cup for 6 months...
 
Wow...we get kicked off the team and can't play for the next year if you're caught smoking or drinking, or if the coaches find out from your parents or anything.
 
ya i know dude its totally fucked up at my old school we used to have to sign a contract that said we could be disciplined for anything that happened outside of school!!!

my friend got busted when we got back to school for calling some kid a nigger online DURING THE SUMMER!!!!!
 
when i was in grade 11 they wouldnt let my boyfriend and I be together on school grounds or during school hours. no notes, no texting, no ANYTHING, all because we skipped one class together.

we werent allowed to pass eachother in the hallway and say hi. my school only had 294 people in it. he always had an escort between classes. it was sooooooooooooooooo retarded.

but the outside of school thing thats retarded

i also dont understand how schools can randomly drug test anyone.... that would never happen in BC...or in Canada. I had never heard of that before NS.
 
this is starting to happen is High schools all over the place. i fucking HATE being told what to do like when everyone knows whats best for you kinda shit, if i was still in HS i would just call them out on it and tell them it was bullshit and make a huge scene. But im glad im dont have to deal with that shit anymore.
 
well the worst that my schools done was when some of my friends got caught smoking weed off school grounds (during a free block) by the police they were brought back to school and suspended for a few days
 
wow this shit is ridiculous. basically because of complaining parents and lawsuits, schools are getting harsher and harsher. I want a school like fast times at ridgemont high. back in the day people smoked cigs in the bathroom, got to leave school for lunch, and called each other names without any fear.

in middle school the principal told me he was considering throwing assault charges at me for gently bumping into a teacher. i knew he was bluffing but I did have to sit for over 2 hours getting grilled. their rationale was because the teacher came in literally in tears, I must have done something really nasty. I explained the logical fallacy of their argument, but apparently this was way over their heads. the woman obviously had a nervous breakdown and this set her over the edge.
 
yeah dude, my schools is messed up. one of my teachers is like a Nazi, he comes up with all these stupid rules, like if we wanted to go from the lower building to the upper buildin at our school (which are seperate) WE HAD TO HOLD A ROPE. We all just made fun of it and he got really pissed so they took it out.
 
FUCK YAi got in a shitload of trouble cause i was an admin in a group on facebook that was making fun of this kid that no one friggin likes. people get in trouble cause of facebook at my school al the fucking time its so gay
 
Well, here in Boulder its simple business.

All the cops in this town have one purpose: DRINKING TICKETS

They could care less that thousands of bikes are stolen every year and that there is alot of theft in South and East Boulder. They generate hundreds of thousands of dollars a SEMESTER through student related drinking tickets, the majority of which happen off campus.

The police report it to the school adn then the school gets to make even more money buy charging you for retarded alcohol classes.

I had some great professors here, but administratively CU is a blood-sucking greed factory.

Needless to say, they have received ZERO Alumni donation from me.
 
its mainly the students who sign "contracts" with their sports teams to not drink or do drugs outside of school. then you can get fucked.
 
got in a fight on the weekend with someone not even in my school, the school found out and informed the cops and i had to do all this shit for the school board and stuff, its rediculous
 
in my school i got put in isolation for taking my tie off on a bus home ps i live in england

in 6th grade I got in school suspension for calling a kid a loser over a text message. It was on a saturday or something. I have never been more pissed.
 
how would the school know if your txting to you lover??? and how would they know if your spending time with them outside of school??? and how do they check myspace pages(dont you have to add these people for them to look at your page?)

we arnt allowed to say gay or homo or fag or nothin anymore in our school cause it is "offensive" if it was to a queer i understand but even when we saying it to each other....

 
schools can look at any myspace or facebook through some thing given to them by the government. people in my town under 21 get fired from jobs for drinking. they see your facebook photos

but from wat i hear, in the middle school, ur not allowed to wear HOODIES, DIFFERENT SHOELACES, OR BLACK OR RED- which happen to be the school colors!!! ive heard of strict dress code, but nothing like that.
 
I can't speak to public schools because I didn't go to public high school, but at my private school you had to sign a contract that said you would conduct yourself in a way that represented the school in a good light no matter when or where. Through this they could take action against you pertaining to actions that were taken on the weekend. I assume this is the same way that schools take action against the people in this thread who also go to private school. Public school is a different story. It would seem that because school is a requirement and public school is the government provided remedy to said requirement, that the administration wouldn't be able to take action when things happened outside of school that did not involve the state aka police.
 
Yeah man our school's gotten so bitchy now. No hoodies, hats, holes in pants. No music at all, not even during your free period. They have to be in your locker, or else they'll confiscate them (fuck that). You cant ride a bike off campus during lunch, you have to walk (fuck that). Cellphones have to be in your locker, and if they see something that looks like a phone in your pocket, they'll take it and search it.

A friend is diabetic, and has an insulin monitor, and has been called out by teachers so many times because he wears tight pants and its super visible. It's hilarious to see the look on their face when they get bitchslapped after thinking they're so smart.
 
i live in rhode island in this town called barrington and in the last like 3 years 4 kids died in drunk driving accidents and one got hit by a boat. the schools got so pissed that now if u get caught with alcohol your not allowed to participate in sports for 365 days + whatever suspension shit they give you. if your caught at a party with it but your not drunk and u didnt supply it then u cant participate in the next 2 of your teams games and something else but i forget.
 
yea last year my friend got his phone taken away in school for texting and before my friend gave it to her he turned it off... and the administrator turned it on and someone sent him a text for a 20 bag and he got suspended d and is now on the potential drug dealer list..... its fucked up shit cuz it his personal property

my friend said gay and was almost written up by the cops in school but instead just got toasted by the teacher for like an hour..

then a kid said suicide and the teacher FLIPPED OUT..

here's a story:
my friend was with a bunch of other kids/homies at lunch on the last day of school and his friends were smoking weed. ok, big deal right? no, this special ed. kid who was smoking by himself rats them out and my friend, who wasn't even smoking was forced to go to a drug rehab program/class and got a 10 day suspension.
the snitchery and gayness is horrible
i hate school rules
 
I can some what understand why private schools would pull shit like this but really public school have no right to do it.

I got in a lot of fights when I was little but the most bull shit one was in grade 7 when I turned around from my locker to put something in my bag I bumped into this gangsta kid and he popped one in my face so I fought back and I was the one who got suspended I was pretty pissed.
 
this is invasion of privacy for schools to be going through phones, and facebook/myspace accounts. How is it allowed? If any teacher called me out and requested to go through my phone I would straight tell them no and take my phone back.
 
in the case of athletes i understand. you sign forms saying no substances, no shenanigans etc. its a privilege. as for other punishments... idk
 
Just take the battery out and give it to them, no possibility of them turning it on and looking through your shit
If they request the battery just say why, I can't phone or text anyone with a battery can I?
If they still persist they're obviously trying to look through your phone so just straight up claim it and tell them if they want to look at your personal info call up the police and tell them to get a warrant
 
ya one time me and a bunch o friends broke into my friends neighbors house while he was gone and partied, and a week or so later we all got called into the principles office and got suspended. it was fucking bullshit
 
freshman year in highschool i made was talkin to my friend and I said fag, the next day I get called to my adminstrators office, aparently some gay kid heard me and thought i was makin a hit list,

schools need to relax id bet my entier paycheck that all the teachers/adminstrators did the same shit we do.
