Hottest pole vaulter ever

[Insert dirty comment relating to pole]

but seriously where did that guy find all those pictures of her? kinda weird

yeah that's a turn off. The fact that she can outperform me physically in almost any aspect you could think of

haha i own her.

She maybe very attractive, but I would go on to say that this whole thing (her picture getting posted everywhere) has been pretty hard on the girl.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18911812/

Maybe refrain if you guys would? I think it said in the article that her pics were getting 300,000 search hits on the web. NS doesn't need to add to this.

Give me a break, I'm looking at her picture. I'm not writing her emails, or calling her, or anything else.

It's not like she's the first athlete to have this happen to her - Anna Kournikova much? There are others.

I'd say she had two good moves in response to this: a) make a graceful comment to the press, such as "I'm very flattered, but I'm just a normal girl, and I'd rather people respect me as an athlete, not just for how I look, thanks".

or b) Hire an agent, do the American thing, and make the best of it. I bet Gatorade or Nike or any other company might be interested in her. Say what you want about selling out, but if she just wants to go to college and keep pursuing her track career - some sponsor money would sure go a long way toward helping with that.

But enough being serious - damn that picture is hot.

You maybe just looking at her, but the girl has been getting thousands of emails, myspace messages, etc. etc. I, personally, just think it is pretty shitty to continue to perpetuate the whole thing. I didn't expect many to take my post that seriously, I was just expressing my feelings on the matter after seeing the girl on forums over and over and over. If I really HAD thought it was that bad, I would have just deleted the thread (as we nazi-mods do). She is a looker, though, and I guess the 12 years olds of NS would need to see her sometime......

CWT asked me to reply to his arguments, so I thought I would.

I understand that she is not the first athlete to have this happen to her, but her fame is coming in a different way that most athletes. Kournikova was a tennis pro before she became a sex symbol. This girl is now national known because of her body, not because she is an amazing athlete. Her fame is from guys in forums talking about how they want to fuck her instead of some medicore tennis on the PRO circuit followed by guys in forums talking about how they want to fuck her. I would also say that this girl doesn't want to be known as the girl on the internet who pole vaults and is super hot, rather a respected athlete in her sport known for being the best. And being the best has nothing to do with how fuckable you are (in sports anyway).

Regarding her current play of the situation, I would say she has already gone and taken route A. She has made some press interviews, as seen with the MSNBC article, basically saying that she is still a normal girl, trying to graduate high school and wanting to go on the collegic athletics. I don't know how much of a market there is for pole vaulters with companies like Nike (I am assuming not a ton, relative to other athletes), but I doubt it is the option she will take. If she is as good as it seems like she is, she will make a name for herself thru her sport, not her body. Sadly, for her (not all the dudes, including me, who think she is hot), they will always remember, with her possible fame thru sports, that she was that hot girl everyone on the internet wanted to fuck.

I think that's one of the aspects that makes option B especially good. Pole vaulting isn't very well known. Even at the olympic level (the top), the only track athletes that get much public recognition are the runners.

No matter what, I think pole vaulting will never be very well known. But if she played it right, she could at least bring it into the limelight a little, and maybe a few kids that wouldn't have tried it otherwise might give it a shot.

Look at cycling/Lance. Only roadies and other bike racers paid any attention to it - except for the once a year coverage of the Tour de France. Now I think a lot more people are at least aware of the sport.

Lance's fame came from exceptional athletic performance, and a terrible experience he overcame. Hers came from a good photo. The world works in weird ways.

However, if you're going to be internet famous for something, I'd much prefer her situation over say...being the star wars kid, or a guy with a terrible American Idol audition.

Haha, what the fuck, MSNBC writers are uh.... strange:

"At 5 feet 7, Stokke has smooth, olive-colored skin and toned

muscles. In the photo, her vaulting pole rests on her right shoulder.

Her right hand appears to be adjusting the elastic band on her

ponytail. Her spandex uniform -- black shorts and a white tank top that

are standard for a track athlete -- reveals a bare midriff."

I agree with Scott (iggy) on this one. She isnt putting herself out there for the attention. She just happens to be really hot and good at vaulting so she got the attention.

Either way, it was bound to happen, the sooner people get over it the better for her.
