Gays have been active and 'out' and accepted in Europe for far longer than in North America, and has it destroyed or even really influenced thier culture? No. They are socially progressive and they have it right.
 
For the last time being gay is not a choice!! You can not choose to be gay, you are born like that because you have a hormone disorder. This has been said a million times and is a fact. Accept it.
 
Though I agree that it isn't a choice, it hasn't really been proven yet either way. However homosexuality has been around since the dawn of man, and I really don't think ridding the world of all homosexuals will stop it.

im not a homophobe but sum dude in 8th grade wrote a journal about me and him ( he liked me and hes gay and really weird) so i kinda dont like gay dudes...and i jus found out my ski club bus driver (a dude) had a crush on me...so ya i have no problem w/ gay guys as long as they dont write journals about me or like me...

Also to clarify things up a bit around the word faggot or fag, a lot of people seem think that the literal translation is just a bundle of sticks. And it is, but the relivence to homosexuality is that back in the good old days homosexuals were thrown into the fire to make it bigger before burning witches (thus becoming fags so to say). So when you use the word fag to make fun of your friend or something equally stupid, remember that you're bringing up a slur just as bad as nigger or spic.
