Why does everyone get a hard on for RED footage? if it wasn't shot on the RED, no one would give a shit.
An experienced shooter can achieve very similar results by shooting with an HVX and a proper 35mm adapter with a good lens kit. I bet 90% of the users on here wouldn't be able to tell the difference if you were told it was shot on an HVX with an adapter. I would even have a hard time telling. When you blow it up on the big screen for a 35mm print, THAT'S when the RED cam is used to its full potential and that's when you see the difference. Not saying that it's not a great piece of technology, but I really just see it as overkill for most people.
I don't get why people buy this camera, only to shoot stuff like that. Now maybe that shooter uses it for more than just dicking around, but there is no reason to have a camera like this unless you're shooting feature films, commercials, studio work, music vids etc. And even then, it can still be overkill.
Give me an EX1, HPX, or EX3 decked out with the Letus ultimate over the RED any day...
Feel free to hate, this is just my opinion.
