Holy Balls! $1,000 for the CR pro lab 1080

yeah, skis are expensive, i'm really glad i get things through hookup. as for everyone bashing salomons, until you snap a pair yourself, get off their case.

'if you case or overshoot a landing on a huge ass air then they gonna break' - no...ive overshot a 60 ft table switch and landed way past the landing, blew out my knees for 3 weeks but the skis were ok(181 orange 1080's). i've rocked those skis for 2 years and beaten the crap out of them and they're fine, the bases are a little scratched from urban but other than that anyone who says they'll break easier than other skis are just jumping on the bandwagon. Pretty sure my friend's scratches have stress fractures where my skis don't, and we both ride the same stuff at the same level. They're talking about prices anyways on this forum, not the quality of the skis, go make your own post if you want to rip some company because you're 'hardcore'. The fact is that salomon pays pros like candide, simon dumont, and cr johnson to ski and that's enough for me.

everyone ive ever talked to who has the newerish salomon 1080s says not to buy them because after about 30 days of riding on them they loose all there life(not pop turning is sluggish), they delam like crazy fuckers the edges bust easy and salomon is super strict about warrenties. now if u wanna deal with all that bull shit be my guest other wise buy skis from core companies who make skis to last at least a season.

Wow its a ski, why the hate on for different companies. I personnally like the skis, some other people wont so they buy other stuff. Debating about construction is fine but the truth is what works for one person maybe wont for someone else, no reason to freak out at a company because they don't use wood, or you delammed them and got screwed. Everyoen has horror stories from every company, salomon is just one of the most widespread

 
Salomon does kinda blow, they do really stupid stuff becuase there company is so big. But one of the dumbest was after everyone left govy this summer the demo center was left open for 3 days with nearly half of there stock still inside. I walked in two days in a row, had new skis, boots and some clothing in my arms but didn't have the heart to take it. But I guess they deserve to get ripped off if they want to charge us that much for a pair a boards no matter how cool they might be.

 
I know one guy who saw sponcered fully by salomon and he droped there sponcer shopbecause there stuff broke every day he used them and had to wait like a week to get new ones ..they suck and evewy one knows it

for the record... youth and teens today have the highest disposible income to date. according to the stats. Just figured i would throw that into the mix sicne someone commented on having limited funds and the price of skis.

yeah i dont have tons of cash to drop on ski stuff, i'm hoping i can get the rest of my stuff for under 500 this year. but salomon, whoever says they dont support the industry or back their products, have you skiied on their stuff? i've skiied salomon skis and bindings for the past 3 years, and yeah some of it has broken, but i had brand new skis and bindings no questions asked in under a week. that sounds like they support their customers and back their product to me.

i'll put it like this, salomon is the mcdonolds of skiing (except the dollar menu cause thats dang good and cheap) they make crappy fatty food and dont give a crap for the constummers, and the big macs(skis) dont stay together, nothing makes me more mad than a sloppy burger. 4frnt, armada, and K2 are like crown burger they make them so good with alot of extras and they care that you think they are good. rossi is like burger king, in the middle but they care alot more than mcdonolds

hahaha you guys don't know what you are talking about. No matter what ski you have, situations will arise that delam them. Whether Atomics, line, K2, Salomon, or 4FRT. Notice how every ski manufacturer has been bashed on this website for their skis delaming? Does that tell you anything? Whether monocap or dual sidewall it doesn't matter, skis will delam. Case in point: I ride pretty hard, have been for years. I still have and still ride occaisionally the ORIGINAL 1080s. Yellow with black bases, from 99-00. Never delamed. Have since gone through, 1 pair soloman race skis, atomic tweaks, new 1080s, and trouble makers. these have all delamed, but not the old 1080s, despite being launched and overshooting jumps, hitting rails and boxes, and even hitting rocks wihle out of bounds out west. skis delam

I dont know why everyone is complaining about the foam core, that is what salomon has always used for all its skis. So I dont think they are going to change now.
