Different strokes for different folks. Just because someone doesn't like Henrik's style doesn't make them a retard. It just makes them have a different opinion than you. So stop fueling the fire of worthless hate and accept that everyone in the world doesn't like exactly what you do.
 
Grab starts at sw 3 and ends at sw 10, so 720 of that 1620 or 44.4% of that was grabbed, I wouldn't call that most of the way through. I must add the last 540 was ultra penis therefor unstylish.
 
I PERSONALLY do not find doubles to be stylish in any way, no matter what grab is done. I would rather watch massive, slow 5s than watch 10 doubles in a row.

Herein lies the problem... style is an ambigious term that is different to every person.
 
right, so all of ns creates threads saying how people should stop only doing only dubs with mutes, and do more creative tricks. but them when someone says it to someones face (O NOES!) it is wrong?
so basically is ok to bitch on ns but then of someone says it in REAL LIFE then it is completely unacceptable? i just think judges should be more open.

OK, HERE IS WHAT JUDGES AND PEOPLE WHO RUN COMPS NEED TO REALIZE
i watched alot of that comp with family who dont know alot about skiing, and some who are just as passionate as me. we could all agree on the same thing, watching all these fucking double cork 10's and 12's with mute grabs sucks, its almost as bad as aerials. i mean this is not what skiing is about, and henrik got completely screwed. the judging needs to be completely changed, to focus on the kind of tricks that henrik is doing. we need someone who has alot of power to realize this and try to make some changes for the better, and right now i gotta say, THANK YOU HENRIK and all the other skiers who are doing the same thing.
and on a side note, in terms of for the olympics, it would be super rad if all the top competitors formed a commity/union that could somehow stop fis from running some world cups, and to stop the sport from becoming completely structured, with each trick being worth a certain amount.
im really hoping that this dub mute shit can stop, and skiing can change for the better.
so i am never doing a mute grab again

What is up with this bullshit about people saying dubs are no long stylish? I beg to differ, I think dub 12's grabbed mute 90% of the way are fucking sick. What is this bullshit about hucking? When you grab your ski and your in control the entire time of the trick it is not hucked, it is sick and clean.
I am sick of people saying dubs are not stylish, because they really are. If you want to say I am sick of seeing dub 12's with the same grab then that is okay, but saying they are hucked is a fucking stupid statement.

 
we are not saying they arent stylish, i think that most of us are just tired of them because its all that we see at a contest, and something that is different and just as hard should be judged as highly

the more people do a certain trick the older it gets and those who progress will (if the judges are good) do better. i mean people wouldnt be doing the dubs if they looked stupid to them... idk i find myself not really caring about the "areals" problem. i could be just restating someone so sry if i am being captain obvious

Really like how you and b-dog do your own thing and don't concentrate on dubs as much (and if you do it's super stylish). Not to mention the soundtrack and editing is dope in B&E
You guys really influence the way that myself and most of my friends ride, giving us pride when we ride away from a blind surface as opposed to risking my life in a double cork...

 
i had the chance to meet both henrik and dumont at the killington stop. Henrik was quite honestly a nicer guy. so thankful that his fans are so stoked to see him. dumont always had the additude of just wanting to get the fuck away.
 
theres only so many ways to throw a styley slow 5... its the same with any trick. thats why IT ISNT A BIG AIR COMP. 1 trick doesnt decide it. it should be about flow, RAIL TRICKS EVENLY COSIDERED. thats why i loved that goepper podiumed without 3 dubs. he threw a STYLEY cork 9 at the top, which i personally think annhilates a double in terms of flowing through a jump line...
 
Henrik's run was sick! A run that really stands out from the crowd! I think it's many dubs who are really sick, but just a few of them are cool to watch because I have seen so many and are tiered of them. I like PK's and B-Paul's, those are smooth. I don't think Henrik is hating on the judging, I think it's only strong meanings about how skiing should be more open for more than just one skiing "style". (The one with big spins on and off boxes, as many dubs as possible, tech grabs etc.) The point is that Henrik could have thrown dub cork 12 mute on every jump in that course, but he won't, he wants to do a run that is his own. He won't let the margins judge the comp, like if the landing are slightly better or the tech level of the grab is a bit higher. He want's to give variation to the sport, and that' exactly what he and Casabon are doing.

first of all awesome face-palm montage.
tied for first of all... Henrik, your run was awesome, linking some of what may as well have been a few of the most talked about video shots of next season... in a dew tour slope run! congrats.
Unfortunately for you and for everyone of us who isn't pro but knows enough about the sport to appreciate style without equal, it was not enough. This is a problem. Judging of a major newschool skiing contest is not representative of the actual community of newschool skiing. I personally feel that judging of major contests should re-evaluate the criteria on which they judge slopestyle runs.
Style is going on the back burner (although some could argue that it was never really on the front burner) what is taking the front burner is as Henrik said, mute grabs and as many double flips as can be squeezed into a run.
Bobby and Elias please don't think this is any sort of judgment upon you, you are both amazing skiers who are leading the charge in your own right, keep it up we are all watching!
Hopefully the X-games will bring a better show and injury-free, awesome run from all competitors!

if you change that to "variation in style is on the back burner" then you'd be correct. calling mute/dub mute grabs with dubs as not a style is straight retarded. i'd rather see blunt dub any day but you're no better than the judges if you don't recognize every style that is out there and know what it takes to make that style look good.
 
come on now, henrik is really good and his skiing in B&E is good too. we'll never have a good judging system since thats not possible. i don't even get how people can call pros bad, i enjoy watching any skier that is pro cause they way better than i'll ever be, and most of you too.

and can we calm down, it's skiing.
