Have you ever gotten first?

Only once, but it was because it was a hill that I had never been to and thought it opened an hour earlier than it did.

like 4 or 5 times... i try to get it first day at loon every year but im always like 4th or 5th. but i get it like twice a year at a little place near me on a cold day

Once at Gunstock, once at Sunday River, and once at Mount Snow. Mount Snow was because our condo was on the trail and we got down there right away like 15 minutes early, and SR we were at the Jordan hotel also on the trail so it was pretty easy.

Yep, we always try and make first chair of the NZ season. Can't remember when maybe 2-3 seasons ago we each got a free bottle of champagne at Mt Hutt for making first chair.

I've gotten first chair of the year twice at Red mountain. Last year was a dope pow day. /claim

Do you mean first chair of the season?

Hell nah, but I've gotten first chair on random days before. There's always fights 'n shit at Killington for first chair of the season...I like to watch.

All the time. Whenever there's a pow day, I'm in the Alpine Meadows liftline by 7:30 LATEST, if I'm in the mountains.

There's nothing better than skiing the lines under the chair first thing, and knowing that EVERYBODY on the lift is pissed you stole their line.

At my mountain all the time. Lifts open at 9 take up the 8:00 bus get there around 8:30. Usually means you get first even on a pow day

Last season, Christmas day, First chair on Gad 2 and it was the first day it was open that season and it had snowed all week. I can die a happy man now.

hundreds of times well tens of times but i used to work at my hill (only like blue mountain size) but i had to get first chair after ski patrol but it sucked cuz i just set up the park but there were always sick sunrises and i always got first lap

ive gotten it a couple times.

ive even gotten double first chair cuz the slide side opens 30 min before main side so got first chair on slide and skied over to main and got first over there too

=)

yeah my buddy lets me on the lift midweek when i dont have to teach a lesson...i love first hits on the park...so smoooooth. First tracks on pow days are pretty nifty too...

Never got a proper first chair (i.e. epic powder day chair). Last season at squaw i got in line at 6:20 - only scored 5th chair.

But i have been on the first chair up before. and even before first chair with ski school back in the day

of course. but not recently since college has gotten in the way of skiing for the past 7 years :(

it's true. I saw it.

Myself, closest I've gotten is like 5th chair of the season. One year, I got first chair, not for the hill, but one of the chairs at the hill. The hill opened a few weeks before, but one of the chairs didn't open till Christmas, and I got first chair on it.

3 times first chair and 1 time i hiked the mountain, woke up around 4, started hiking and up on top i witnessed the most beautiful sunrise, then strapped on my skis, rode down and caught the first chair, probably one of my best skiing experiences ever ...

damn i can't wait till christmas to shred again ! >:(

lol i got first chair of the season last year at cypress and ive got first gondala twice maybe at grouse

I'm sure at least a few time for Milk Runs and other random things. Used to be the all Vail Resorts full-time staff had to go through lift evac training. They did this at like 5:00 AM in the middle of winter. I can only imagine how butt cold that had to be. I never had to do it, but my mom did back in the day. There is also nothing like riding a lift at night. I'm not talking about a mountain set up for night skiing with tons of lights. Riding up in pitch black is really cool and skiing down at night with no lights and no moon is one of the scariest things I have ever done.

Ive gotten first chair, on the first day of the season for 2 years in a row now. and last year i had last chair on the last day with the ski patrol haha

I got first chair of the season before, and the hills website took a picture of two random fucks and said they were the first skiers of the year. Maybe they were the first to buy lift tickets, because I was first in line at the chairlift with my season pass.

First chair, first day of season, first tracks down the mountain at Baker. Two seasons in a row now.

every day in portillo because everyone's so hung over and doesn't care about skiing so nobody gets up before 10

the only time i got first chair was when there was a huge ass line waiting for the lift to open, nobody saw that the other side of the lift was open also, so we just went to the other side, ahead of people that had been waiting for almost an hour on an awesome powder day, beat the people on the other side to the first chair, got yelled at like crazy, it was awesome.

omg the same thing happened to me. i was in a lift line and there were people who had been waiting since like 6am and they didnt realize that if you cut to the front, pushed some people out of the way, ducked a rope, and snuck on to the lift you would get first chair!!!

i used to get drives up with my friend who works at the local hill but his work started an hour before the hill opened so i used always calmly slip by the lifties and they usually thought i was a digger or something.
