Have you ever gotten first?

I've gotten first chair of the season before. My most prestigious first chair is from last year's 11 foot powder day. 11 feet in 5 days and I caught first chair.

I've gotten 1st tons of times, not sure if its quite the accomplishment at Mount Southington haha. I don't think I have gotten first chair anywhere else.

I chased a storm a few years ago at Wolf Creek, 35 inches overnight. Took me so long to get there I just slept in the parking lot. In the morning the only people to show up were patrollers and lifties, most other roads were closed. I had the place to myself the whole day. Best day of my life for skiing.

once my dad dropped me off at the mountain really early because that was my only ride up- had to wait around for an hour. i think i probably got first

Like first chair of any day or first chair of the season. I have gotten first chair on a regular day a fair number of times.

I'v gotten first/last chair of the day countless times mostly at my home mountain Burke but i also got first chair first day and last chair last day at burke this past season and two years ago got the most runs out of anyone/claimfest

Almost this season! I was gonna camp with some friends (at 10 PM) for first chair, but I couldn't make it that night, so I went 3 hours before opening lift. Got third chair, behind those bastards ha

Before i went to college and was working as a ski instructor at my home mountain i'd typically get first chair at least twice a week.

I have gotten first gondola at kicking horse. first chair on peak chair.

At sunshine I get first chair on teepeetown all the time. First through the gate to delerium all the time too.

I have never gotten first chair of the season though.

Depends. Alpine Meadows you're usually good with 7:30 on a pow day, depending on a lot of stuff... but if you want first chair (and some G.N.A.R. points) on KT-22 at Squaw, you best be there at 5AM with a camp stove and some eggs.

My mom works at the mountain, and does this program called first tracks. it's this thing where you can pay to go up at like 7am before everyone else (my mountain opens at 8:30) so you get to ski freshies for like 1.5 hrs with like 10 other people. And i get to do it for free whenever i want. So yes, i have gotten first chair up. it was actually first gondola, but yeah.

I've been the first and only person to ride the gondola at Killington on a couple of days. But only because i worked there and we'd shut down due to weather.

yessir, loveland a couple years back.

i've also gotten first on a couple of news articles here on ns but thats not a big deal or anything

plenty of times... but only like three times on a pow day... got it last year at crested butte after they reccieved 22" overnight, it was amazing

first gondy many many times up grouse. first pass scan off the season at grouse a few seasons ago too, that one was legit.

Chuck Norris get first chair everywhere... everywhere.

Jokes aside, i've never gotten first chair since there's always those people that arrive way earlier than it is physically possible for me haha.

I got brought up by mountain maintenance in a truck on Oct 21st this year.... It wasn't a chair lift, but they gave us a few rides in the truck. Not first chair, but first people to ski the mountain.
Then I got the last non public chair this year. As in the president of the resort and 80 year old dude were in the first chair, then 2 chairs of ski patrol and then mine... so kinda like first chair.
last year I had daily first chairs quite often. I did at Mt High as well when I was a ski instructor. Trying to get in a run before I had to be in line up....

at baker last february. and I think maybe a few times when I was little, its never really been a big deal to me.

Once, but it was at a tiny mountain so my friends and I were the only one standing in line. After us there were two other guys and then a gap of about 5 chairs so I don't even know if mine is worth the claim.

I got first chair of the season at my home mtn yesterday, then today I got first chair again.

And first tracks in a whole slew of runs.

i got first chair of the year at my local hill (kissing bridge) 2 or 3 years in a row. i cant remember hahaha. i used to get first chair every saturday and sunday, ive kinda slipped off my game.

a couple of years ago my brother got first chair at vail most of the time he was out there. But he worked there so its cheating.

Secret is that lots of mountains (at least here in the NW) open their lifts early on pow days if they have avy control done. Stevens pretty consistently has Double D, and the back side open by 8:30 even though resort doesnt' open until 9. I've seen alpy have the lower chair open by 8:30 before too (though I've never seen chair 2 open before 9 esp since we are lucky if they get that thing open by 10).

Anyway, getting first chair is why I built my app (link in my sig). Sucks to be the guy to have to ski everyone elses cut-up.
