Hater gunna hate

Looks like another bobby brown to me to be honest. so very talented.

but, not the direction i want to see skiing going in. I enjoy watching style-y skiing so much more than technical dubs. Very tech but not much style... so tired of seeing dub 10 mutes. fuck dat shit

SW 27 in rodeo japan out, now that is for me pushing the sport a little further, i'd definitely want see more of those crazy admirable rail tricks !

Thought i'd add my opinion here...

You kids need to stop acting like were watching a ski movie. This is a contest, for a lot of money. This is these skiers jobs, careers, futures. Goepper is obviously going to through down his hardest, most tech run, so that he has a chance to win.

4 on 2 out, standard but he did it perfect, two runs in a row. superfed, stomped, twice in a row, again. sw 2 on flip out, thats fucking hard dude, i think id classify toms trick on the canon rail harder (sw on, blind 4 out, of a rail that forces you the other way) but still very hard and did it perfect in both of his runs. Sw left dub 10, not super steezy, but sick and tech because thats his unnatural and I feel like ive never seen him do sw left dub 10 before, only sw dub 9. Then a perfect sw right dub 12 at the bottom (natural spin) with an outrageously stomped landing. He desrved a 94.

Now his second run, rails were the same, just as stomped, his sw left dub was a little more forces/less style, still stomp and then obviously sw 14 was sick but really sketch. I think he shouldve got like an high 70 or low 80 for that run because of the last trick. Just IMO.

Why do you post a useless, inflammatory thread just so you can be OP of a shitstorm?

And don't deny it, your title states your intentions.

Lastly, the last double was ugly. In comps perfection wins, and that wasn't perfection.

personal opinion on this, yes he threw down, but style does play into effect, unnatty switch 10 not very much style, standard grab but clean landing, switch dub 12, it looked like he just grabbed his toe piece but again stomped landing, not worth 94 in my opinion.

No one cares WHY he does ugly dubs. He could be doing them for Jesus for all I care. It's the ugly dubs themselves that bother people.

As sad as I find it to say, this is the truth. Really if we wanted style in our contests, we'd have to change it at the judging level. Athletes will just lose if they focus on smooth style and not tech.

I remember once asking Pete Olenick and Colby West why nobody ever does stylie shit in contests and only ever does cab 10s (at the time that was the big trick), and they said very simply:

"If you had $20k on the line and you knew for sure style would lose, what would you do?"

Not much else to say other than that. Bug the AFP or whatever judging commission that style has to count more than difficulty. Or have a contest that bans high rotations, and you can watch a contest about style. I've seen it before, and it works great. However, without rules forcing it or judging that scores it... tech is king.

His switch double 10 looked almost dead on Wallisch's and half the kids on here have been sucking that trick off. How about a little consistency, jesus christ.

I agree with the whole going for it on contests thing skiers doing all they can to get the big $$ with a professional career that doesn't give a ton of royalties.

His style was not hideous in that 2nd run besides the 14, but def needs some work. Tech was on point. Maybe I'm just so used to Wallisch putting down stomped runs every slope comp that I'm finding it to be the requirement for someone I think who deserves to win. As someone posted before what Colby and Peter said, that is just how comps will be though.

I did extremely enjoy that KOS edit of Nick also. If he could put that style into his runs, I would enjoy watching them much much more.

His style is a little undesirable, but he's obviously super stoked on skiing and is still young and progressing, so I have faith that he will improve. Also, his goggle tan makes me happy.

I think he deserved the first run, second run scoring was off by quite a bit... Should have gotten more like a 70-80.

His double blunt 9 in west coast sessions like last year (was it the year before?) was so sick, mad style on it too

people need to watch this. landings were on point every time. and the style was there. it was almost like watching wallisch

this. watch jon brogan ozzing with steeze and he does some 3 and 5's that are more entertaining then a dub (insert spin here) mute. Not hating on geopper at all because the kid kills it, I'm just tired of seeing the same trick.

Geopper deserved the win he destroyed everyone in that comp.

but its not the direction id like to say. Thats my opinion though. Wallisch didnt even deserve 2nd i dont think. Laker shoulda podiumed woodsy should have been way higher and alex bellemare to. and irvirine 69.00? Who were the judges at this comp???

Only contest this season I have been a little bit mad at the judging.

and btw id be dissapointed if he spent $30,000 at windells academy and didnt get as far as he his.

i bet he destroyed his expectations im stoked for him. i saw him riding timberline everyday about 2 years ago. knew he was going somewhere.

I miss the 'why is everyone doing sw 10 mutes' arguments. They had real insults and hatred in them....kids nowadays....

i just dont get how you could hate so much on a kid that is killing it. who cares that his style isnt coming through in comps. i need to see some more of him skiing just for the camera. and lets not forget hes how old? as long as he stays injury free, i see one hell of a bright future.
