Hand Drawn Skiing Sequences Thread

thanks man, that comment means a lot from the god of sequences himself. i think the rocks look a little funky though. they look like they are just stuck on there and floating but not really a part of the hill. also i think the rotation is a little weird too, but damn they are hard to draw, but im getting better haha.

thanks for the comments though everyone i appreciate it.

A 5 off of a cornice, Andy style. That guy stomps in powder like none other...

I do a lot of these in class, and a girl I usually sit with was bored, so she added some art of her own. The bunny has potential in my opinion.

Ok, so my idea was to make a terrain, and then trace some copies off of it, to produce a few sequences on the same feature from the same angle, just with different tricks. Heres one...

...and heres the other. Kinda worked, two different shots show the potential in the feature, as a double stager or just a big ass double gap.

Yeah, perspective didn't work out so well, and so the guy ends up going really really really high. I think anyone would shit their pants getting that high off the ground on skis, and on top of a ridge too...

Switch 5 road gap with some kind of double grab, nothin much.

Switch cork 9 mute to nose. I'm telling you, combo grabs are going to totally be in this year.

I'm trying to cut down on the sizes of the image, so I've been messing with the scanner properties a little. These are reduced in size, so tell me if I pixelated too much detail or something.

ummmm pretty much all ridiculous as usual. thats a sick idea doing the terrain and doing mutlitple tricks on it. my fave is the second trace on that sketch, incredible shading, it really pops off the page.

Haha, its true, its like being in a world thats constantly lagging.

And those sketches are really damn nice. Waz, I've commented before on that, but it needs to happen again - crazy ass detail. And the oil/watercolor stuff - I dont know how you people do that, whenever I tried it always came out looking like I had sneezed something colorful on the canvas. Haha, and I love Patty's ski dudes! You're getting Escher-ish with that drawing hand, its very cool!

Those could be used for next years ski movies...!

what about showing a handdrawn sequence with the skiers name on it and then turn into the real one..? that would be a cool segment intro..

hope u all understand what i mean :)

I agree. My best work happens when i just start and then follow what comes to min. When i set a goal, i always screw up and lose patience...

yeah, and you normally have a picture in your head of what you want it to look like but 90% of the time it doesnt end up like that. i always get frustrated with that sorta stuff. and dued, your last one is insane. i loved how you drew in the hand, and i really like the style that you draw your skiers in. kinda cartoony, but kinda not, i think its awesome.

For some reason i've drawn another thing where i tried to get "artsy". Heck, i even came up with artistic BS to justify it: "From the Inside Looking Out":what the world looks like to a skier locked inside due to unfavorable season

dude, that is insanely good. props man, only thing i can think of is that the skis are a little long. other than that that is kick ass, nice work man keep it up
