This thread is begging for a "why so serious". I won't do it. I really enjoy the self righteousness that rears it's ugly head in threads like this.

Like clockwork, someone feels the need to condemn a "worthless" thread and let everyone else who has participated know that they are so above it blah blah. What's lamer? Posting in a bad thread, or posting in a bad thread to let everyone know that you know that it's a bad thread in order to feel good about yourself and maintian your superiority complex?

there is a thread about skier professionalism... this may be a prime example of how it isnt the greatest

although people in other pro sports get called out all the time
 
its not like he said brogan was a terrible skier he just said he didnt like his ride away steez. not everyone is gonna like it right away

no but he called him out directly and that is lame. he could have just said something about ride-aways but he called out brogan. jacob has always been a tool who think too highly of himself. he loves to paint this image of being a intelligent, thoughtful, creative type when in actually he is a massive poser. the "non-conformists" artsy types are bigger posers than the wanna-be thugs in my opinion (and I really dislike the wiggers).

jacob, you should know that as a pro skier and at the level you are supposed to be approaching, that you should be above petty call-outs and weak disses on kids who are 16 years old and just entering the scene. talking shit in person is one thing, but to advertise it on a website is rediculous. you are a tool and always have been, people had just forgoten how big of one until now...

brogan, take it as a compliment that this big "pro" skier is calling you out. he knows who you are and he lives on another continent.
 
I don't even really know where to start...The kid is 17 fucking years old, just signed a contract with a legit pro film company and is now skiing with the best in the world, how is he going to still be "treading water in the same place" ? He can only get better, progress further. And if you're referencing style instead of skill, let him do what he wants, whether it's skin tight jeans or 6X tall tees, who the fuck cares. Maybe in two years tall tees will be played, but people wear what they want.

I read the rest of his armada Q and A and his answers are annoying.

There was a question saying who is the most underrated skier and he said no one is under or overrated which is obviously not true.

you guys gotta see past the hate. brogan just happens to embody everything that alot of people hate about skiing these days, jacob was just using him as an example for you to better understand what he dislikes about skiing but clearly his point fell on deaf ears.

however brogan proves once again that he is a capslock namedropping pile worth alot less than two pages of replies.
 
There are bound to be different styles in a sport this open ended, and theres bound to be people who dislike certain aspects of other styles, but deliberately calling out another professional on their specfic style should be below anybody who truely loves the sport and wants to see it progress and evolve... unless your scrawny tight pantsed emo kid of course... wait a second...
 
I would disagree, if you dont know what afterbang is, saying brogan isnt going to help that much.
He didnt have to use brogans name at all.
 
What makes a good skier?

The ability to do your own thing without copying style. Stand out in a crowd and let your skiing talk for itself.

How could he say that and then say that BROGAN'S ride away is a bad trend. That clearly makes him stand out in a crowd of skiers, which according to Jacob makes a good skier. That is quite the contradiction.

anyway, its funny how everyone immediately jumps on the jacob-hate bandwagon, just because OMG JON BROGAN made a thread about this whole thing. if 90% of the people posting had been on NS for more than a year, they'd know that jacob wester used to be a very active member on NS so he obviously knows his answer to the question would end up here. also, he probably could care less what a bunch of 15 year old noobs think about him.

and taking a shot at someone's fashion sense is so predictable. if you're going to take a jab at someone, at least try to apply some wit so people might take you seriously.
 
You need to go to Breck or Keystone on a weekday and see the amount of kids who no one knows that throw harder, cleaner tricks, with more style, over actual jumps. You are right, very few are able to let themselves force style that hard.
 
First off I am going to disagree and say that Liam was one of the first to do this "afterbang" thingy

and then as far as this thread goes.... Brogan needs to get used to the hate, even though this is skiing and were all just supposed to be having fun and shredding its not that way.... just as much as were extra long t's to get ruined aren't any part of skiing. Other homie looks gay as all hell but is on a way doper level then brogan. If brogan just chilled and let his bros know how wach wackob was being then he would have looked like the bigger man, even though taking a shot like that may have been weak it was so fucking true to just as many people who love draping their t's and standing straight up to obviously resemble an erect penis!

The Brogan ride away is just another asset of steeziness. If someone stomps the landing and rides away clean switch, that's sexy as shit. As long as it does'nt look forced, which for many of the higher level skiers who preform said trick don't seem, its sweet.

Just because people have different styles, doesn't mean we should hate on one another. One of the best things I love about skiing is the support, general love, and the bringing together of all kinds of people...(who can afford ski equipment, ehem).

Never the less. Wester should apologize, and then they should hug.
