agreed, although jacob is an amazing skier jon brogan is jon brogan jacob wester is jon pretty much the exact same style and the exact tricks not sayng its a bad thing just saying i respect brogan for taking style in a new direction
 
I lose alot of respect for Jacob because, like said above, he is almost a cut copy of Jon Olsson. Whereas Brogan is developing his own unique style, that is pretty much amazing. No doubt Jacob is talented, he just doesnt have his own style.
 
Yeah, if they went trick for trick. But if it was just skiing, i would rather watch brogen then jacob any day. Jacob is boring, if i wanted what he brought to the table i would just look at jon
 
totally depends on jumps and replace 25ft flat box with any rail or box honestly i cant even remember the last time i saw jacob do anything very tech on rails not trying to hate on jacob just saying its an unfair comparison

What makes a good skier?

The ability to do your own thing without copying style. Stand out in a crowd and let your skiing talk for itself.

theres much more to brogan then his bang...have you seen his summer edit? kid is an incredible actor hahahaha btu seriously, just because his bang is most noticable doesnt mean thats all he has. his air style is rediculous, rails are on point...the kids blowing up fast. wait til you see his shit in turbo.
 
haha i was just about to post about that. he also mentions how much he is ready to "finally" be done with skiing for the year even though he is among a select few who could be coaching, filming, or training anywhere they wanted all summer. that pissed me off
 
i think jacob needs a tall mug of root and or birch beer.

Alright, so i couldnt help reading on a very prominent skiing community’s forum, that a lot of people seem annoyed with my “low blow” on Jon Brogan in my Q&A on the armada website.

Basically I called the “Brogan ride-away” one of the worst trends in skiing, right below wearing tall tees on the outside of your jacket. This was not me trying to hate on Brogan in particular, just the whole concept of trying a little too hard to look like you don’t care after every landing. I tried to come up with another, better word for describing it but I couldnt at the time. The stuff i’ve watched Brogan do is amazing, and I’m definitely giving him props for coming up with new and different styles, but landing in control just to lean back and straighten your body right after you touch down, well, to me it just looks like youre caring too much about looking like you dont care. Every second before he lands look great to me. This goes for all followers of the afterbang cult.

I guess 4bi9 probably wants to settle this with me in a dark alley somewhere but thats my explanation of it. Not everyone is going to be psyched on everyones style, at least look at it in a way that I recognized Brogan as the leader in that “style genre”.

We get it, you're an NS veteran with all kinds of forum street cred. I know that I'm incredibly impressed. I have "200 something" posts, this is true. However, I'd like to think that those 200 posts are thoughtful. If your million some posts are as inane and condescending as that one and the one prior, I've already conttributed far more than you have.

It's a tad ironic that you criticized people in this thread for judging Jacob based on his clothing, and yet you're judging me based on my....post count. You've already come across as arrogant and stupid, just shhhhh.

I don't really think that's cool. I know I don't travel as much as Jacob does, but shit I ski everyday, probably as much as he does, and as may rolls around, the last thing on my mind is " finally its over". I dunno, it's alright to think that if you're not obsessed with skiing, but I would just assume that anyone who's lucky enough to be a pro skier would also be as obsessed with skiing as I am. Whatever, this is why I like AM skiing better than Pro skiing.
 
just in case u didnt realize, im pretty sure berman picked jon because of his style. not because of the difficulty of the tricks that were in his superunknown video. and im pretty sure that berman realized that if jon could ski with pros all the time, he would be progressing faster than ever and learning even sicker tricks with that same style. so even if he does look back a few years from now and laughs he wont give a fuck because hes going to have learned so many new tricks. so i dont think he would ever be "treading in water"
 
The weird thing is people on here are hating on brogan for hating on wester.
but in reality if brogan didnt call out wester for calling him out. Then brogan would look like a loser.
