I encourage any of you that are curious about long range shooting to give it a try; it is an absolute blast

This is a video of me shooting out to 1,000 yards

Quality is potato but I love the audio waiting for the sound of the ping to make its way back

That's awesome, I've only been out to about 450 on steel and it's a blast. Had a .308 but never really had much opportunity to shoot long and ammo wasn't as cheap as 556 so I sold it. Always wanted to try 1k.

Your no bolo, where’d ya learn?

I have a ar30a1 and .338 rounds I’m good for a bottle at just under a mile, and a saiga with a 20 round drum, dozens of air soft and paintball artillery

The boys and I have a 160 acre hunting ranch with paintball, air soft and a zombie storm I’ve run thru with a Shotgun, we’ve got rtvs quads, a geo tracker no doors no top ?, a cj but it’s all primarily paintball and air soft

So that’s what I have and what we do , I don’t own any pistols or hunting rifles, and I don’t carry other than a piranha otf blade for work

It was basically a response to the other guys long shot post and a story of what my friends and I do for fun.

I was referring to my sniper rifle and shotgun that I keep at a hunting ranch. Some of my friends keep rifles there as well as an assortment of paintball guns etc.

I have a group of ex soldiers etc we host/play airsoft and paintball together there with other local groups and teams. We have a shooting range, driving trails for all sorts of off road vehicles with targets along the way. A few people are allowed there privately for live ammo days.

If anyone is interested in a first time purchase or has questions, feel free to PM me. YouTube videos are cool, but a vast majority of those dudes are getting paid to shill.

corona and election year aside, what’s a normal price for 223/556 ammo? how long will prices be bad?

I'd guess at least 1.5-2 years for any election scenario, but I wouldn't expect 556 to get below .35-40/rnd ever again

haha oh dear. the cheapest bulk buy I got online was .46/round so I guess i’ll consider that normal from here on out

I could be wrong too, but yeah here's a cool infographic where you can make your own conclusions on ammo price based on market inflation and political happenings
https://public.tableau.com/profile/matt.chambers#!/vizhome/Gun-DealsSalesData/SalesAnalysis

From what I hear, right now the problem is raw materials + labor compliance with covid stuff making it harder to scale manufacturing to meet demand.

I read an article not long ago smith and wesson has increased production volume 140+% and it's still not enough.

With ammo it's primarily primers and powder right now. They're the only fully consumable components with ammunition. Brass is recyclable multiple times and projectiles can be cast from a number of things most of which are fairly easy to recycle and produce.

Save your brass, boys!

It might have decent velocity with such a long barrel but is stupendously ugly.

so ridiculous but it actually looks sick IMO. you pull that out it's baller status compared to a lowly glock

Pull it out of what?

a holster?

no

a pocket?

nope. Also not big enough.

a backpack?

maybe, but its incredibly unsteezy

a hiking backpack?

yes, but enjoy needing a hiking backpack to carry your stupid penis-compensating pistol.

But seriously im kind of astonished you find this gun handsome or cute or somehow visually pleasing/aesthetic.

it has no form factor and its proportions are disgusting

Actually you’re right. .22 is far too small. Give me one with identical proportions in .44 mag

New 12 gauge, Winchester SXP Extreme Defender \m/

I've been accepted at the trap range as the Guy With The Red Dot. I'm getting pretty good, the open choke isn't a huge hindrance. Probably ordering an improved modified this week, or a full choke for the 18" barrel

Feeling particularly pro-gun today, decided to pull out the vintage 2019 PSA AR. Haven't shot it much this summer for obvious raisins (no ammo), so I'm going golfing today instead.

I don't think a 22 is compensating for anything

Its actually somewhat historically accurate. Colt built a number of "Bluntline Specials" for Ned Bluntline who was a publicizer for Buffalo Bill. Wyatt Earp reportedly had one with a 16'' barrel but a lot of others cut theirs down. They came with a detachable rifle stock so they were kind of like a carbine.

Any one have thoughts on the 22 WMR , I was thinking about getting this guy for a home defense rifle.

The general rule of thumb is to not rely on a rimfire cartridge for self defense, I wouldn't recommend it. If you're looking for an inexpensive home defense solution a pump shotgun, handgun, or if you have a lil more money the best solution would be a rifle caliber carbine like an ar or ak

Fuck no dude. Sure 22wmr will put holes in someone, but it won’t make holes big enough to be certain that they aren’t a threat. If $$ is tight, get a maverick 88 with the 18.5” barrel. You should be able to find a new one for around 220, and with slugs will do just about anything you need.

This. 22wmr just looks weak as fuck. For a hundred more than the 22wmr rifle u could get a savage with a decent sized caliber.

Yeah I have a keltec 22 mag and I wouldnt rely on it for self defense. It is a lot of fun for targets and small game, though. Thinking about taking a deer with it this year. Not technically legal but I could easily put a round in a deer brain from 20yds with it.

Palmetto State Armory used to be considered low quality crap. Now it appears they're taking over the world.

Their new Dagger was just released and sold out instantly. It's based on a Gen3 Glock 19 and will accept most if not all aftermarket parts for that gun.

MSRP is $299...

What I'm waiting for is the new PSA5, a affordable MP5 clone. Rumor is it will be well under $1000

Yeah the PSA5 is super dope, gonna have to pick one of them up when I move back to the US.

Defence from what? What is he defending against.

Stopped at a local shop on Friday. They had a $60k Winchester double barrel shotgun that was apparently destined for the CEO of a major international food company. It had 24k gold embossed designs on the whole thing. In the wood stock, in the receiver, and into the barrel. I've never seen a gun like that in person. Wish I got a picture of it.

I would be very careful with *new* purchases right now, especially from PSA. I've been reading that QC is currently horrible and getting in contact with anyone there to fix a problem is about as easy as finding ammo.

I know this thread might not be intended as grounds for politics but I love to express my opinions and piss off gun toting snowflakes. I think its chill to have a gun that you only take to go to the range or to hunt with but I feel like its a paranoid move to feel the need to carry or keep a gun for self protection. like if thats you ur a sketch ball

Ppl like you are hypocrites because you have no problem with government agents having a ton of guns so they have absolute coercive power over the gunless citizens, because the government you believe will always side with your liberal gibsmedats mentality.

Nice. One of my brothers friends whos dad is very wealthy has a huge 1000 acre ranch In the northeast where they have 4x4 gators and sidebysides and an armament of like hundreds of guns and enough ammo to defend their compound from thousands of armed intruders or government agents.

i love the feeling of having guns. Granted they are all long range rifles but knowing that i could run and grab my gun if some thugs took my family hostage Is comforting to me. I read about a crew of 4 ghetto thugs who took a white family hostage a couple years ago demanding they go take out millions of dollars from their bank and give it to them. They ended up killing the entire family and getting caught bc their retarded asses ordered pizza and let the pizza delivery guy see their faces and they also left fingerprints all over the pizza boxes.

So if you want to argue that its better to just go along with the demands of ppl who take you and your family hostage thinking if you play along they will not hurt you, you are DEAD WRONG and should go fuck yourself.

Im not interested in getting my whole family murdered bc i was too big of a pussy to buy a gun and learn how to defend things i care about like a man.

I’ve been consolidating ammo these last few days. Very few liberal gun enthusiasts unfortunately.

i bought a bunch of 7.62 with a bar of silver that I bought with bitcoin. Felt like a turning point in my life.
