Granite_State$'s Scary Stories.

Probably one of the most terrifying moments I have had in this house happened maybe a year ago or less. I was sleeping when I heard maybe ten doors slam in quick succession. It was loud enough to wake me thats for sure. It's also odd because there are only five doors on the second floor of my house. Anyway, when I woke, my door, which had been firmly closed when I went to bed, was open maybe 10 inches. In the crack, illuminated by the light of the hallway, which had been turned off when I went to bed, was half of a dark "humanoid" figure. I stared at it for maybe 20 seconds before it backed down the hallway. I laid in my bed practically paralyzed for maybe 3 minutes, all the while listening for the sound of foot steps or a door closing, none of which I heard.

My initial reaction was to think we had a burglar break into our house. When I finally got out of my bed and went into the hallway, all the doors were closed. I went downstairs, nothing was out of place. Shit was straight fucked. Absolutely no explanation.

I later talked to my dad and brother, both of which heard no noises nor woke at all during the night.

My house was built in the 80's. Thats why my family finds it so odd. Before we moved in in around 2005, the house had sat empty for a few years. Thats all the info I could really find. And no, I do not suffer from sleep paralysis, though that one occasion made me believe it was possible.

Another story my friend came forward with was this:

Before I told anyone of my suspicions to my house being haunted he claims something very strange happened. He is actually the NSer Jponce, if you have ever seen him post around.

Anyways he was sleeping over my house one night I believe before we were to head to killington the next day. We were both in my room and he claims that he woke in the middle of the night and realized he was lying in my hallway outside my room, closed his eye's, re-opened them and he was back inside my room and the door was closed. He never told me this until I started mentioning how I thought my house was haunted. I believe him because he really has no reason to make stuff up like that.

Another story that happened recently was the "youtube incident".

I was watching a video on youtube that was actually linked from NS. I was home alone, and paused the video halfway through so I could go downstairs, make dinner, and come back to my room and finish it. Well when I got downstairs and started making dinner I heard a strange noise. I stopped what I was doing and listened. At first I couldn't figure out where it was coming from but after walking around the whole downstairs I figured the source of the noise was coming from upstairs. As I went upstairs the noise became clearer, almost like a muffled talking. I reached my room and realized the noise was coming from inside. As I entered I found the youtube video was playing, with the volume all the way up, from the beginning. I had paused it maybe 3 or 4 minutes in but when I had reached my room is was around the 30 second mark. To top that all off the cursor was nowhere near the play button, which would have had to been clicked to make the video play. It was instead on the minimized button, which I had pressed before I left my room. Absolutely no explanation for that, unless you know of youtube videos restarting from halfway and playing at full volume by themselves.

Here's a shorter one...

A few weeks after the "figure" incident I was sitting in my room typing a paper. My room is on the second floor and is the second to last room in the hallway. My fathers office is at the end of the hallway and is adjacent to my room and the bathroom across the hall. Anyways, I'm typing a paper when I hear the sound of a couple desk drawers closing. Metal ones, and it was loud. I thought it odd because my dad had told me he was going to go out and run a few errands leaving me home alone. I figured he must have just come home early and I just didn't hear him go into his office. Well I figured I'd check to be sure. When I opened my door I noticed his door was closed. "fuck" I thought because the last thing I wanted was this to be another ghost thing and I know I didn't hear any doors open or close when I was in my room. Well when I opened his door it was no surprise that all the lights were off in his room and there was no one in there.I looked around quickly and all the drawers were closed on his desks (he has two desks and like a work bench with metal drawers. I'll take a pic later). I then called him and he tells me he was been out for the last two hours and won't be home for another 30 minutes. Needless to say I was scared shitless.

You can hear anything happening in the office rather clearly from my room, especially since my bed sits against the wall that divides the rooms and I was sitting on my bed with my laptop. Once again, no explanation...

You can't just make a statement like that and not give further explanation. I personally don't believe in or not believe in ghosts (though I'm more on the 'I don't believe in ghosts' side), but I see no reason for ghosts existing to by physically impossible, seeing as they wouldn't be part of this physical realm if they do exist.

way to make an absolute statement without being able to prove it. at least say "i don't personally believe in ghosts". I'm not sure where i stand on the matter, and honestly, I don't care.

Alright so I told my dad about this thread and he got this really weird smirk on his face. I realized I was about to learn something creepy that just happened.

I should first let you know, especially eheath, that my father and I are some of the most skeptical people when it comes to the paranormal. I'm not making this shit up so if ghosts are physically impossible, which I don't believe because there are plenty of things in this universe we can't explain, then I have no clue what could be causing this shit.

Anyways, he just told be that a few weeks ago he was sleeping when around 2 am something woke him. It wasn't a noise or a smell but a touch. He said he was laying on his side (right side) and he felt something grab his heel firmly and push his leg out away from him. He says this was what woke him from a deep sleep.

I should also let you guys know that his room probably has the most activity of any other one in the house. Like even in the daylight it has this eerie feel to it. I always keep the door closed when I'm home alone or just with my brother because I feel like someone is watching me if it's left open.

That story isn't the only one though. Maybe a year after we moved in some really fucking weird shit happened to my dad. He said he was going up to the room (my parents room at the time. They have recently gotten divorced). The door was closed but as he reached for the handle and grabbed it something ripped the door out of his hand that caused the door to open slightly. At first he thought it was my mom who just happened to try to open the door at the same time but realized it wasn't when he called her named and saw that not only was she downstairs and not in her room, but all the lights in the room were off.

I'll go take pictures now so you can get an idea of how creepy my house is. It is dark outside now so pictures of the outside will have to wait.

and please don't fill this thread with a debate on whether ghosts exist or not. I made this thread because a few kids wanted a place where I could share my stories, not somewhere where we can talk about whether ghosts can exist or not...

i had goosebumps haha my house is haunted i think, i don't have full stories just little incidents here and there. i fully understand and believe you haha

These are cool stories though man, I always enjoy a good ghost story. My exgirlfriend lived in an almost 300 year old house in northern New Hampshire, and their family had a ton of stories they used to tell me. Half of their house was also devoted to the old folks home her dad ran for old people with alzheimer's that can't take care of themselves anymore. The place is like straight out of a horror film. I don't think I'd be able to live in a place like that haha.

For the record, I feel like whatever is in the house doesn't want to harm me or my family. It's hard to explain but I think whatever it is is kind of passive. Just likes to make it's presence known. After a while you kinda become numb to all the weird shit that happens.

P.S. Lucky me, I get out next year cause I'm leaving for Champlain College so I won't have to worry about weird shit ever again

My dads room, hands down the creepiest room in the house. I always keep that door closed:

Upstairs hallway. Door on the right is the bathroom, door on the left is my room, and the door at the end of the hall is the office where I heard desk drawers closing:

This used to be a formal living room. Used to see things moving in it all the time. After my mom moved out and took all the antiques that were in it (made it 50x creepier) activity in this room stopped. Not really creepy anymore:

Finally there is this closet in my room. One day I was working at my desk and heard a loud bang come from the inside. The funny thing is the only thing inside that closet besides hanging jersey's is my boot bag. When I opened it nothing was out of place, nothing had fallen off the hangers, and the boot bag was just chilling not even touched. the worst part is my bed faces this:

haha I was afraid when I was uploading the pictures I would see a face or something.

And if it follows me I'm gonna straight up beat its ass. Its bothered my for the last 6 years of my life already.

Just trying to enlighten the uneducated people of NS. A ghost is suppose to be someones "soul" that is existing in a spirit type form. Ghosts are said to be able to think and are the same person as they used to be just they are a ghost. This is physically impossible, the brain functions because of electrical currents firing throughout your brain, when you die your brain dies and its impossible for a ghost to have electrical signals firing through thin air. Therefore a ghost is physically impossible and they do not exist. Granite, you're a very good story teller thought, bravo on making a bunch of dumb kids check their closet before they go to sleep.

I dont know if youre religious at all or not, but even if youre not, keep a Bible on hand and no joke each time theres an incident, go to the room/location it took place in and read Scripture out loud. The more positive spiritual presence, the harder it is for negative spiritual presence to thrive.

PLEASE don't turn this in to another religious shitstorm, just an idea

bahahah i guess if you're dumb enough to believe in ghosts then you're dumb enough to believe in religion.

I don't want to bash anyone here but who the fuck are you to make fun of anyone's beliefs? And just because you can't wrap your mind around the fact that there may be more going then on than what physics can explain, does not mean it is not possible.

Thanks for saying that I am a good story teller but everything I type has actually happened whether you or anyone else chooses to believe that or not. If you don't believe in the supernatural that's fine, but you have been on this site long enough to know that posting useless shit in threads that people don't care to see is pointless.

You've had your say now you can gladly stop visiting this thread and filling it with useless bullshit.

Have a nice night.

OK whether you believe in ghosts or not WE ALL MUST AGREE,...GHOSTHUNTER SHOWS especially that one with the creepy guy idk the name.. are super fake. i still beleive

Not saying you are right or wrong or that if believe in anything but Evan you are extremely shallow and blatantly have no open mind at all. I find it sad the people who cant open their minds to possibilities i mean fuck we used to think the world was flat and this was accepted by 99% of the population, everyhting we know is only form a perspective and you should realize that any common knowledge today known as facts are very likely to change and you shouldn't be so god damn skeptical.
