just the Orage and Siver stuff

Orage Rider's edge line is really dissappointing, not as unique or waterproof fabrics as they were in the past, nothing really stands out in the designs either. But there's some really cool stuff coming out of another line (the name escapes me) just know this, Waterproof poly twill flannel is gonna be hott!

On the Siver side of things, they stepped up their waterproofing to 5,000 mm, just as good as Oakley's road fuel line. There's some pretty slick looking new designs and jackets.

So in conclusion, Orage was a dissappointment in general but there are still some sweet pieces. Siver stepped it up, but if they could step it up to 10,000 mm waterproof and keep the jackets around $250 and pants around $200 they would really be kickin ass.

wtf siver pants for 200 and jackets for 250 are more expensive and not worth it

If skiing was a guy it would be johnny depp. hes the coolest!

it's really worth it. $200-250 would be really cheap for quality pants from a company that actually supports the sport and looks good at the same time.

the orage masters line for next year is sick. period.

i've seen the helly stuff, too and they have some really neat designs and colors for next season.

you guys misread my post, i have no idea what siver's prices are gonna be next year, im just saying if they upped their quality i wouldn't mind paying 250 for jacket or 200 for pants

wow i would. theres are reason i have k2 clothing- baggy as hell and cheap as hell.

If skiing was a guy it would be johnny depp. hes the coolest!

not usually my k2 shit rocks its thick and warm and totally bitchin'

If skiing was a guy it would be johnny depp. hes the coolest!

Orage a disappointment? Not the shit I saw.

All I'm allowed to say is that it was fucking rad, and tech-ed out beyond anything Orage has ever done before. It's the first piece made by any skier dedicated outerwear company that competes with Burton's high end stuff. And it's about time.

Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.

i hope your right jib_this... i want some sick shit so i can school my snowboarder friends with looks and style, fuck burton.

The flannel thing is sick, although i wouldnt wear one cuz i think there over-rated. Nevertheless i think its cool how orage messes around with differnt fabrics.

sivers stuff for next year is a VERY big step in style from this year. i think it is one of the leaders for good looking, functionable ski clothing. and the colors are rad.

i like the orage stuff as well, the one piece is SO sick.

hey this long signature thing is the new pink

^?

yes, they're all made there.

ALL of the 05 predator outerwear is

20,000 waterproof, 20,000 breathable

you won't find a better value

'ALL of the 05 predator outerwear is

On ugly, outdated looking mogul wear. Oh, and Kendrick, I've seen you trash some other companies ads on here. But nice job with the polar bears wearing backpacks on a chairlift. Such a great ad. Jerk.

^you can lick my balls because we make the most advanced mogul clothing there is (check our convertible pants that have made comp pants obsolete)

But that's only about 5% of what we make, mostly freeride and technical outerwear. You are obviously out of the loop, so check out www.predatorwear.com before you dis moron

^^why do you think I'm here anyways? It's because I care about skiing and I care about people always talking the weakest shit like:

moguls are gay

racing is gay

skogan has no style

predator is mogul

...and other stupid things.

The fact is, Predatorwear will keep you warm, dry, comfortable, plenty of features and not a rip-off. I'm here because I care.

'Mommy, can I buy predator? The owner tells people to lick his balls, they're the coolest company ever!'

Checked out your site, still looks like mogul shit to me. Get some updated pictures if you're so in the 'loop'. And you haven't said anything in defense of your cool polar bear ad.

Our marketing was not ideal this year. But what we are trying to do is make ads that are different than everyone else's. Not using a sequence or picture of an athlete and then our name. We also did not want to offend anyone and we feel that our ad is non-offensive. And since we named our company predator and name our clothing after the animal predators in nature that inspire us, we wish to have them appear in our marketing. We sort of reached a common ground with the polar bear idea and went with it. You remembered the ad, so we increased our brand recognition. Unfortunately, you still think that we're mogul, so maybe we should have done better. We will continue to make ads that look nothing like anyone else's. And we will continue to make clothing that is different than everyone else's, but it will continue to be one of the best values found anywhere in the industry.

i wanna see oakley's stuff for next season... i hope its not an upset like this seasons

When your not sure about something, just HUCK IT!

oh and if you wanna be considered a 'freeride' brand, you need to sponsor more park kids like mckeeman, and less glenn plake's

200 for pants is too much for me.

'A little too much hot sauce on that one'

^we're honored to have plake represent, we'd love to have a team that looks like Oakley's but we can't afford it. We're not OWNED by a huge corporation like Orage and Siver are. In the future we will have a more legit core freeride team. The people that we sponsor right now are sick and represent us very well. I really feel that companies which focus only on freeride will be extremely lucky if they make it.

But it's really about making the best product for skiers and that's what we're all about.

and noteefa,

if Siver stepped up their waterproof to 10,000mm they would then be half as waterproof as predator at 20,000mm

and the orage masters stuff is 'critically seam sealed' whereas with the predator stuff, every seam in every pant and jacket is taped, fully taped. Pretty weak for a company that pulls 20 mil per year. you've now been educated

Kendrick,

1200 is all it takes to be waterproof, the rest is a windproof rating, so 20,000 isnt that noticeable compared to 10,000. Nobody is complaining about the quality of Predator, they are complaining about the ugly designs, and the fact that you come on here and act like a prick.

only 5000mm? my jacket is 20 000mm and it was 250

i gave predator shit in another thread, I'm glad to see other people agree.

I don't doubt the quality neccessarily. But yeah, it really does have a lame brand image, and is not very progressive at all in terms of designs. If predator wants to market to mogul skiiers and the more average crowd than that's fine.

When they claim to be producing 'cutting edge' outerwear for freeskiers, then i'm gonna have to disagree. For instance, take the hoods on most of your jackets: you advertise them as being zip off, and storable in back of collar. Most 'newschool' skiiers want a real hood, usually attached, but not a stupid little piece of crap that tucks away in a pocket behind their neck. You should know that.

You claim your ads don't offend people? That says to me you're afraid to really have an image, you don't want offend 40 year olds. If you say you don't want to have the typical sequence/action shot, that's fine. Come up with something cool and original then. Peter Line said an in interview last year that he hated new snowboarding ads that just showed a dude on a rail and a picture of a boot: he liked the old ads, which were crazy, and frequenyly had nothing to do with the product. I'd suggest to you to do something like that, not polar bears with backpacks.

And as far as the team goes? You don't need a team like oakley's. There's SOOO many good riders out there that would probably wear all your shit and be real happy to be on your team and in ads, all you have to do is look. The amount of amateur talent these days is huge.

exxactly, don't worry about sponsoring the huge guys, but take a more grassroots approach, sponsor some new talent

But first thing first, Fashion is all important, and your shit is ugly

they have anniah kirk don't they? i talked to him a while back, he seemed like a pretty chill guy. he was roommates with my old windells counseler

So I actually went to your site, and I have to say the site itself is SICK, I really like the matching feature.

Looking at your clothes, however, everything looks like the same lame shit. You're not keeping up with the current trends at all, no fur hoods, no patterns like camo or plaid, nothing innovative in the style area at all. Frankly, if you approached me wanting to sponsor me, I would tell you no. I'd rather pay a bit to stand out on the hill.

first of all... not selling a coat with a fur hood doesn't automatically make your company lame. the fur hood is beyond played. camo is played. you guys want the fashions to be innovative but you also want them to be just like everybody else. make up your mind. i'm only defending predator to a certain extent... i think their style could use a lot of work, but if you guys want to be helpful, make suggestions like corkwormturn did about attached hoods or things that you'd like to see in the future like colors or features. they're ahead of a lot of companies as far as waterproofing and pricing, so if they made some positive image changes, they'd be on the right track.

the quality of Siver gear was abysmal this year, i can't believe how many kids wasted their money on that crap. you can pay $240 for a siver jacket with 3,000mm waterproofing and only critical seam tape or you can pay $200 for a snowboarding jacket (Holden for example, or Burton) that looks the similar or better, is 15,000mm - 20,000mm watrproof and fully seamsealed. it's a simple decision. Siver should not be able to compete with inferior product and higher prices, it makes no sense.

Orage shit was nice this year. they are innovative, and they are quality, but damn they are expensive. they need to get they're pricing under control... alot of snowboard companies have the same quality gear at half those prices.

so anyways, tell these companies what you want to see... tell siver you want 10,00mm at least. tell orage you love they're shit but can't afford it. tell predator if you want better colors, or innovative patterns, or if you want a goddamn stupid fur hood.

and kendrick, since you seem to be paying attention (which i respect) you're tech seems good, your pricing seems good... i'd like to see some different colorways, some earthtones would be nice.. not too into primary colors. consult some design mags or fashion mags for some color trend predictions. dark earthtones mixed with pastels is starting to get hot. patterns from street clothes has been a hit for a lot of companies (Analog's pinstripes are so sick.) plaid, argyle, houndstooth all have been working. if you want to put a spin on freeskiings roots, you could play with neon (carefully) gotta have your tongue in your cheek for that one (check out vans' Danny Kass boots). and as far as advertising goes... don't worry about offending people... be creative... we can take it.
