Got a sneak peek at next years clothing

'You're not keeping up with the current trends at all, no fur hoods, no patterns like camo or plaid, nothing innovative in the style area at all. Frankly, if you approached me wanting to sponsor me, I would tell you no. I'd rather pay a bit to stand out on the hill.'

noteefa, im not disagreeing with you that predator needs maybe some better style in their stuff, but

1)why do u want to 'stand out' on the hill?

2) having fur hoods, plaid or camo outerwear does NOT make you stand out, theyre just the hot thing this year.

this whole thread makes skiing sound like a fashion show. not good.

Dude where the fuck have you been? skiing IS a fashion show. Im offering Mr. Kendrick here some sound business advice.

I was just using fur hoods and camo as an example of how predator hasn't kept up with current trends. In reality he is going to have to predict the next hot thing to sell his shyt.

everything is a fashion show. to some extent... the philosophy should be: if something CAN look good, it SHOULD look good. it's works for Apple.

When I ride I do wanna stand out. I want my style, tricks and clothes to stand out among everyone else. Why? for the ladies bro, for the ladies.

^alright, thanks for the advice. We have been resistant to using the fur, it's not like we didn't think about it. Plus, we thought camo was played about two years ago, and we put it only on our pants cargo flaps and inside the jacket's stormflap. Miraculously, some of you still want camo and fur. So we'll listen and incorporate some.

We have been in 'safety mode' as far as colors and trends. Sticking mainly to colors that do well in the mainstream market, because that is necessary to develop the numbers required for minimums with the factory. We will be making a new range of clothing beginining next year. This line will be targeted directly at the core freerider, regardless of whether it will sell to skiers outside of the park scene. We expect that it will result in a loss the first year.

20,000mm is in fact more waterproof than 5,000mm but the really important statistic is the breathability at 20,000gms/24hrs You keep the rain off in many jackets and pants, but most all of them will feel like you're in a plastic bag when compared to the way the predator pants wear. I know because I compare them all the time on the hill, and others including Plake report on the performance of our outerwear. We pay extra for 20k/20k because that's what we want to ski in.

I appreciate advice, but I don't appreciate people trying to 'bring us down' or anything like that. Feel free to IM me anytime with ideas and criticism.

I'm here for Predator but I'm here as a freeskier first and foremost, that's why I might offend someone whom I feel made a bad comment. I'll take that risk. Get some!!

Oh, yeah... our hoods are very solid and functional. Just because they zip off doesn't mean it's a pinner hood. Check it before you knock it. please.

alright good response noteefa.

ya.. i know, skiing is a fashion show. i guess i'm just reluctant to accept it.

to the predator guy: i can definitely see where you are coming from, not wanting to put fur on ur hoods and camo on shit. every wankster at my school wears a furhooded coat. and the only camo i will ever buy is from a army surplus store.

the advice i would give is: think more about what people want (baggy fit, good colors) but dont buy in to the big trends, unless, as noteefa said, you can be ahead of the game with it.

so not that this really has anything to do with predator clothing, but your pictures on your site are awful. and using the same picture twice on the same page under links that are supposed to represent two different styles... interesting. and the tiki pants are the most hideous things i've ever seen. bibs are also really progressive.

more sick clothes from ski companies

i'd still never touch salomon bindings with a 30 foot pole. they pre-release like its their job to.-lanks

Pirate steeze, arrrr!

^good point about the one pic for two lines, I've been wanting to fix that. As for the tiki, I'm over it personally, but there are many skiers out there who have the 'aloha spirit' and create a market for this pant, so we keep them coming and they keep buying them. I take it you've never been to hawaii?

one thing i forgot to mention...

whoever said it wasnt a good image to have plake as one of their riders should shoot themself in the head. or maybe just be ashamed for a minute

Oh, shit. We only lost three pudwhackers as potential customers so far? Not a bad price for being able to express my views. ;)

^ yeah Kendrick that was a fucking dumbass comment, I was actually gaining some respect for you, but now that comment, that's ridiculous to look at that from a buisness stand point.
