honestly though, I do not understand the hard on everyone has for Jay, yeah they get decent snow, but its not like out west (and yes I am from the east coast, MA actually), the park is usually not that great (but there was a couple nice jumps last year), and although the open woods policy is nice, I have never been all that impressed (and considering it takes me over 3+ hours to get there in clear weather it can be somewhat of a let down) but I have always had a good time skiing there.
Yeah it's great if you live up by the Canadian border and can get there in/or shortly after a major snowfall, but how many people really can.
Don't get me wrong, I like Jay Peak when I get the chance to go there, but honestly, it really is just another New England area that is highly suceptible to bad snowfall years, and ice just like everywhere else, its just sick when they truly get dumped.
