i dont know a whjole lot about cars but i have this as my max budget casue im strapped now and its pretty fast for a good price and looks pretty nice kinda ricyish im ging to look at it on sunday

o and it need spark plug wires and that is all

thanks for the help

i already posted this in the car cult ubt itll get seen more here

ya but the thing is for me to get a car it has to be this price or lower and a car is nessicary and for this price its not a bad deal or i can buy a 1984 cvic hatvhback do i am gonna go with the eclipse for now

o and does a racing clutch make it faster? i think it may be a stage 1 or 2 or 3 i dont rememmber wat he said but it was a drag car

I would say that it is a good car for $1500, especially with that few miles on it. You may even be able to sell the rims and get normal sized tires, so if you need winters, then you wouldn't be spending a fortune. 18" snows would set you back a lot.

for the most part ill only be driving it to school in the winter but ill prolly sell em and get something cheaper adn smaller

what what? dude i would fuckin go for the civic. but that's just me. it also depends on what shape it's in. the eclipse is in really good shape.

a racing clutch makes it just handle differently. like a race car. vroom vroom!

Thats pretty low for that car and the mods he has done, if you decide to get it id have it checked out first. Personally i would never buy a used car that had mods on it. You have no idea how it was driven, probly pretty hard.

ya he dragged ti it was loaded he had nos and a whole bunch of shit thats my main concern its just gonna die from bieng ran so hard but im def ahving it checked out before i really enev consider buying it but at this point its my best be to find a nice car for very cheap

just bring it to the shop and have them to check it out, make shure the check the compression and make shure the transmission and clutch is good. other than that it seems like a good deal.

That looks like shit. It's not bad for the price, but take off those gay wheels and that spoiler and sell them on ebay. Perhaps you want to look at the previous owner, if it was a younger kid(which I'm guessing it was) he probably ran the shit out of it, causing the need for a new clutch and "racing clutch" (what brand?) Ask alot of questions about the maintenance and history so you don't get screwed over in the long run.

its a good deal if its the turbo one. it says nothing in the description about a turbo. and that thing looks ridiculous with those wheels body kit and wing. my buddy drives a talon which is the same exact car and its fast as fuck. runs low 12's with the stock turbo. those cars can be quick.

if its also a street car i guarantee you its only stage 1 because anything higher driving around all day and your foot will be so god damn sore from the pressure plate being so damn stiff. that shit sucks.

Pass on it. First off, it's riced out, which means it was undoubtdly beat to piss by the prior owner.

Just get a reliable car for your first car.

depending on where you live go here.

www.hondamarketplace.com

scroll to the bottom and find the region you live in and just read through all the threads, its only like 8 pages, youre more than likely to find a deal.

it's not overpriced at all. but something that looks like that with that price tag is bound to have something wrong with it.

keep looking around. do you have to have something that's already modded out? go find an older civic or accord. if you get one then parts and other mods are always available and pretty damn cheap. it's also pretty easy to find a motor to swap out. (cheap as in inexpensive. not cheap as in crappy.)

the best websites to go to that i've seen are tamparacing.com and jdmdreams.net. i know these are based out of central florida, but they have a bunch of useful information.

Be very careful of a car like that. If it was a "drag car" or whatever the person that owned it more the likely beat the shit out of it. Go look at it, if the the seller is legit they shouldn't have a problem with you taking the car to your mechanic as well to check it out. Just be careful of cars like that, my friend was in a similar situation he found a great deal on a AWD Talon seemed to be the perfect car for the perfect price but he ended up having nothing but troubles with it.

forget the eclipse. go look at this car...

not ricey at all. the way it's supposed to be. because ricey = cheesy gayness.

1993 civic dx

it's got new parts in it. and it has some nice rims. what more could you want?

this car is the sistine chapel and you my man are michelangelo. go and paint your ceiling.

READ THIS. uhm as a dude that knows alot about cars, I wouldn't do it. If it had NOS and shit on it and required a 'racing' clutch lol, they have probably shredded on this car too much. The clutch might be good, the engine and nos might okay, but usually if you dont beef up the rest of it...i doubt it will last man. You have to concider why he is selling it for 1500. That is easily a 5,000 dollair car. What with judging by the pictures and shit. Sorry man, go with something differnet. Those cars are 'throw aways' when it starts crapping out, its gone. TRUST ME!

with this, im going to tell this bitch to stay the fuck out this thread, or at least dont take ANY of her advice, because she just told you a clutch affects how a car handles.

secondly, DO NOT BUY AN OLD RACE CAR. if that car has new pistons, think about why it has new pistons: because it was ran like complete shit.

you have to be stupid to be looking at old race cars, they are all driven like shit and you will be buying a shit car that will really fuck up on you.

there are plenty of cars for 1500 that are good deals.  look for cars that have been owned by few people, and the person you are buying it from better have receipts kept from everything done on the car.  buying a car from the original owner is your best bet.

you can get nice cars, with higher milles but well maintained, for 1500 and it will probably last you a while.

just look for a car from someone who has owned it for a while, and has documented all the major services done to it, so you know what you are getting yourself into as far as repairs down the line.  major services are shit like new timing belt, water pump, maybe a clutch, etc.

and if you are serious about a car, pay the money to have a mechanic check it over.  its worth it.  if the seller wont let you do that, then dont buy the car.

i gave someone else a lot of advice about buying used cars in another thread, my dad sells cars and i have bought a few good and bad ones so i know what to look out for.

and if you really want a modifyed car, make sure you have enough money to do it right, or it isnt worth it.  when you cut corners modifying a car is when it gets to be real expensive and you mnight even ruin the car, make it undrivable, or worthless.

if this is your first car get something good and gas and reliable and have fun driving it.  you might even bang it up, most people do, but dont be too preoccupied with making a race car.

thank you. you've totally given me a whole new perspective on cars.

a racing clutch is different from a stock clutch. so i think it would handle differently.

example: my friend has a stock civic with a stock clutch. my other friend has a civic with a racing clutch. needless to say my friends felt a huge difference between the two even though they were used to their own cars. but like one accelerated faster than the other...something to do with grabbing...it was weird.

a racing clutch will make it shift faster which will make your engine rev faster whcih will make you accelerate faster...i generally thought that anyone that puts a racing clutch in a car also puts a short shifter...

not exactly, racing clutches are stronger and more durable to handle increased power and abuse from big launches that you would encounter in drag racing.  yes a racing clutch (keep in mind there are many types and different levels of them) will grab quicker and harder but this makes them a lot harder to drive and if its your first car, you will be stalling it all over the place for the first couple weeks.  as far as handling goes, it doesnt effect it at all because it is not a suspension mod

i personally would not buy it, even for 500 dollars because it has been heavily abused and you will have to put a lot of money in it to keep it running, not good for a first car

ewww that car is ugly as fuck, and gay. you could find something much cooler for around that much.  just get an old subaru or something.

jesus some of the responses in this thread are just ridiculous.

Personally i would NOT buy this car. yes back when i was looking for my first car i would be drooling over an old "race" car like this too but i can guarentee you would regret wasting your hard earned cash on this piece. save up some more money and pick up a car thats in decent shape and then later on make it fast.

exactly. This seems like a waste of $1500 and you will regret it. Why not save your money and invest in a nicer car in a few months? Shuttle rides with friends until then, and use the money from grandparents, parents, whoever during Christmas. Besides, i wouldnt want to drive that POS in the winter.

*True Story*

If this is your first vehicle, I would suggest something cheaper, and more reliable. You won't regret it, trust me.
