You would either have to keep it about the same place and build the wedge out maybe another 10 feet, which would involve creating a HUGE wall of snow on the back side of the wedge (not worth it) or you could work SUPER hard on the inrun and MAYBE build a short stepup (also not worth it.) Because of the transition into the jump most people build it as far out as the terrain will allow and it still takes 2-3 days
There's a flat section where the jump is built, then a really steep, short downhill which would be almost impossible to absorb at speed for any reasonably sized stepup.
Besides all that, since it's been doubled as is, building it small just seems silly. haha.
