Any band that's obviously just in it for the money or are just blatantly copying another band. If a band has musicianship and creativity, I can respect them, even if I dislike the music that they produce.

I hope you know all the members of that band are amazing musicians. Don't base judgement on them if all you've heard was their last album (which sucked), because the first two were incredible. I would like to hear a good reason why they are bad.
 
he meant currently. which is true. not many current guitarists can match his skill. maybe that dude from dream theatre but dream theatre is annoying as hell.
 
yellowcard, ALL NEW RAP/HIP HOP and other bullshit, panic, green day, all american rejects, hawthorne heights, metallica, my chemical romance, theres more just cant think of them now...
 
dude at least half that list is current. his songs are written with the same method that any other pop song is written. usually your basic 3 chord song with a two bar (if you're lucky) solo. trey anastasio for instance is at least twice as good as john mayer, he can play more fluently, with better tone, and he can write a real classical style composition. he is of high talent in the world or mainstream pop music, but it's ignorant to say his talent is unmatched by many, because simply, he hasn't proved that. although the trio is an upgrade from his shitpile studio work, he still sucks.
 
I can't argue with that, but if you're stating that a "three chord song with a two bar solo"sucks, then basically every blues and rock artist in history has sucked.
 
I totaly agree with you on this disagreement. like its quite evedent you know very much of what your talking about. Shortanconfused i think your were quite wrong when you said currently because as Thisangelicrage (whatever your name may be) stated alot of those guitarits are current.
 
that would be why i posted what I did ^^ above your post. but what I meant by current wasn't so much "still living" as it was new artists that have come out w/in the past few years. in which case, all i can think of (that are somewhat mainstream) are trey and mayer behind him.

im really into all emo music and i love all the now cds and all of the overplayed music on the radio, totally hits is probably the best cd ever made but i really think that the beatles and the rolling stones are horrible

Agreed except for Postal Service, they're tight. Nothing is better when you're pissed off and need to relax and unwind.

Woah, someone even mentioned the Chili Peppers in here? Not good. Not good at all. Stadium is hands down the best album of the year.

yeah theyre newest album wasnt all that great I only liked Passive and counting bodies like sheep to the rythm of wardrums but even that is like a remix of pet. Thirtenth Step was an amazing album and so was Mer De Noms

I really really really dont like the beatles I just dont like them thats it I dont see whats to great about them. and I dont really like old rock it just doesnt do anything for me I listen to super tramp but thats about it. I dont like U2 or bono either they just piss me off. I hate AFI and any of those kinds of bands I hate my chemical romance and I fuckin hate eminem I cant fuckin stand that guy. Oh and I hate evanescence
