Yeah all of jack johnson's songs all sound the same that samme scratchy voice, just like Dave it just gets old listening to it.

why the hell do people keep bashing KISS?!?!?! is there another kiss band around that i don't know of, or does everybody hate gene simmons and paul stanley?
 
uh no.......... im pretty sure dead to fall, a perfect murder, all out war, between the buried and me, bury your dead, comback kid, darkest hour, four letter lie ( some what emo but good), on the last day, preminitions of war, ringworm, scars of tomamrow, sinai beach, the warrior, and with honor are not even close to shitty. just becasue hawthorne heights is on that label does not mean its a shitty ass emo label. those bands i mentioned are fuckin awesome metal/hardcore bands.

and i think nirvana is gay
 
as far as most are concerned, hardcore/metal bands in this day and age mean emo. either way, those bands a pretty damn shitty. Voodoo Glow Skulls kick ass, and so does Streetlight Manifesto. Catch 22 is only halfway decent anymore. other then that, Victory is one of the gayest labels out there asside from the mainstream rap labels.
 
I kinda agree, I never really liked nirvana. Even if you dont agree that they suck, you have to at least admit that they are way overrated.
 
of course he can, but hes still ignorant. they werent overated, regardless if he doesnt like them. their not my favorite band either, but they are far frm overated, they were too influential in the music scene during their time. they layed the road down....

and to who ever you are argueing about nirvana( forgot your name) i think nirvana is overrated in the musical aspect not for what they did for music. i think there shit is horrible and is not very creative, have you ever tried to play any of there song on a guitar? there easy as shitand not very creative. they did lead the way tho to like modern day indie bands i guess you could say or people that are just playing for the fun part and not givng a fuck. but as far as musical talent i think they were overrated. * this is all my opinion*
 
i can't listen to them anymore. i used to love them. then i realized that they influenced grunge (which i like a good deal of) but from there they influenced emo and when i listen to thier songs, well, i just can't do it any more.
 
i think what he is trying to say and what i will say is that bands like nirvana, verus the music someone like you listens to is music that actually impacted the music industry in a positive way, and that this kind of music is listened to by someone who actually respects orginality and influence. I understand you have your opinion but im not gonna lie i dont respect it, im sure you dont respect someones opinion of music if it includes music like 50 cent and the Game. But really fans of this kind of music are the exact same as fans of genres like screamo. They are all very closed minded (only listen to that single genre). I mean like take a look at a real band that was really good like the Pixies, they did not copy any other bands, they formed their own styles, of course influenced by others, but their own nonetheless. They released diffrent albums all containing diffrent styles and they expiremented with many diffrent lyrics. Compare that to the typical screamo band, which is that they are not original they all really do sound the same, which is screaming to heavy guitars, then a nice bass line while the singer sings in a more pop punk fashion followed by more screaming. The albums do not differ in style (mainly because their crap muscicians that dont have the ability to expirament in other styles, and they know their fan base would hate anything diffrent) the lyrics really are all the same which is emo. I could go on and on but i wont.
 
wait wait wait are you saying that im close minded? i was stating earlier that those bands on victory are not shitty. never did I say that its the only genre i listen to. as a matter of fact thats further from the truth than.... i dunno wut. i listen to everything country, rap, emo, hardcore/ metal, oldies, reggae, techno, even grily shit. i dont care i listen to everything it doesnt matter to me it all depends on my mood. i hate ppl that only listen to one type of music thats def not me. and if thats not wut ur saying well sorry. but i did state earlier how i feel about nirvana a few posts up, i did that say they were influencial. i just dont think they were very good. they did do alot tho im not denying that.
