Game of Thrones

No brave companions, arstan whitebeard, strong belwas. Lets just leave out story progressing characters and put pointless scenes instead.

what'd you think were pointless? The Sansa one was probably longer than it needed to be, but nothing as bad as the Robb/his love interest shit from last season.

Its changed from the books but its still important. Suppose to be Jeyne Westerling, a family sworn to the West rather then someone from Volantis but a harmless change imo.

we may still see strong belwas since sir barristan was just introduced. although i don't know what to think about him just revealing himself right away instead of trying to conceal his identity.

grrm needs to get on the fucking ball with the next book before the hbo series catches up.

^yeah, I've read the books & get it that it's a major plot development, but that chick's backstory isn't really even touched on in the books... all of that action happens 'off-stage' if you will. I'm just always bummed when they take a chunk of the fifty minutes that could be dedicated to something cooler.

This. I was stoked for the mysterious old man with his lightning fast staff attacks. Was way cooler in the book.

Fuck and you. Tywin Lannister is a boss who can get anyone to do what he wants. The only person Tywin doesn't control is Tyrion

damn, they skipped a lot of the book between S2 E1 &E2. Winterfell has already been destroyed by Thon? Cat's dad is already dead. Interested to see where they're going to go with this.

hahaha

I'm curious as to whether you guys who've replied had the read the books and what sort of surprise it was for you guys if not.

and if the shit that goes down in the books is anything like the TV show George RR Martin is the Howard Stern of fantasy writing, why does everything that goes down have to be so damn dramatic and shocking, Tolkien didnt need to have Frodo bang Sam for LOTR to get read but now i kinda see why this dudes shit is so good for TV

never read the books, dont want to spoil the show. This is my memory of watch it
1: hear the tune of casterly rock (what ever that song is called) me: WTF WHY WHY WHY???
2: doors get closed me: OH FUCK NO OH FUCK NO
3: walter frey? Starts to speak, chain mail gets reviled, me: actually yelling at the tv NO NO NO FUCK NO
4: robs wife gets stabbed, my heart drops
5: everyone else gets shot me: unable to move
6: they both die me: notice i am shaking can not move correctly
7: 30 min after the show me: hands still shaking, it honestly just felt like one of my family members died

As someone who has read the books I totally know where your coming from. People do it with other shit all the time and its such a piss off. I read something on the Sixth Sense the other day about how it wouldn't have gone over nearly as well if it was released now since there would be so many things posted on social networking sites like "...that ending" "OHMYGOD" and it just takes away from it.

I feel like you might be talking to me? I hate that shit too, and I genuinely don't think asking non-readers what the experience was like for them last night is doing any sort of wink, wink, I'm in the know bullshit.

It's a very different thing to have no expectation of that scene, and because it was so striking and unflinching I was curious as to how it unfolded for people who didn't look for and jump on any and all little 'tells'.

If it came across like smarmy book reader shit, or pseudo spoiler, it wasn't my intention. If I wasn't the target at ^, my bad, I'm stony baloney, under a blanket, watching my 6th episode of American Horror Story in about 16 hours, and I'm maybe just paranoid.

i know man, i knew some of it would be ruined but i couldn't help myself. i should probably catch up to the show before next week though.

the book is still good, just so much more detail to every storyline.

i knew robb was gonna die this season because of that stupid cunt derfernertly or whatever the fuck her stupid ass name is. bitch.

but catlin dying was a shock still. that ending was fucked up

jesus h christ, all I said was 'you're in for a treat this season'that could mean so many fucking things.

calm down children.

I will say I like how the show portrayed the Red Wedding. I thought that it was going to be the finale episode though, I wonder what's in store for next week

I cant remember how long after the next big event is, but if it is what I think it is, people should be happy.

But I finally realized that Jeyne Westerling was written out (whoops) and Talisa Maegyr had replaced her, meaning no more conspiracy theories about Jeyne carrying Robs child...

I am picking up the books this week from my buddy and prolly finish them all this month but as of right now Bran is gonna be a boss... I think..

The fact that he can control humans and not just animals is fucking huge. I mean he could become anyone and just merc the person standing right next to them or do whatever I mean the more he figures out to use this power its gonna be HUGGEEEEE.. And Ayre or however you spell her name is gonna be a fucking boss. I guess I will see if I am right here soon.

Aight for those of us who have read the books, I made this thread. Hopefully people will stop yelling at us

https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/forumthreads/cat_id/2/

Anytime you preface something by saying you don't mean to do something, you probably know exactly how your going to sound. In this case, like a cock.

There doesn't need to be two separate threads. People who have read the books need to not post major spoilers. However, for people who have read the books, there are tons of changes in the show that are valid discussion points for this thread. For example, the lack of Jojen and Meera at winterfell or gendry and Mellisandre meeting. Those don't spoil anything for anyone but contribute to the discussion of the show. If you don't want to see spoilers or aren't caught up with the show, then you might not want to go reading about it on the internetz.
