seriously, I think your a goood weight. I'm 5"6 and 125 and I'm really curvy, and I wish I was petite. it makess sports and stuff a lot easier. you should stay that way until your metabolism slows down, I think your weight sounds perfect! but if you do wanna gain weight, the best thing are protein fruit shakes. I got really sick last winter and lost like 20 pounds and just kept drinking them until I got the weight back. Making unhealthy food choices really woont help you gain weight because of your high metabolism, it will just reflect on your skin, sleep and well being. so eat lots of healthy lean proteins and you should hopefully see some weight
i'm 6'3 and the heaviest i have ever been is 165, these days i'm back down to about 155, its fucking hard to put on weight if you're a certain body type. don't force yourself to gain weight unless your unhealthy skinny, but you don't you look charming and healthy. someday you'll probably gain some weight unintentionally, but for now, enjoy having a naturally petite body.
if you really wanna put some more girth in the right places do some squats for dat ass, but i think you look good.
im 5ft9 and 125lbs. trying to gain a little too, i run 4km every other day and i bought a shit tonn of that boost nutritious energy type drink. Also have a bunch of Carnation meal replacement that comes in a bunch of flavors (mix with milk). Its kind of a half ass effort but i certainly feel it has helped.
Im losing weight rapidly and its kinda starting to bother me. Two months ago I was 6' 160 lbs, thats healthy. Then two days ago I was 141, and today Im 138. I work out 3-4 times a week but have very little body fat. Any explanation?
id reccomend adding some lean muscle if you want to gain a little bit of weight. lots of protein and lift those weights. work every single muscle group. from legs, core, back, chest, shoulders, arms, everything. just be a gym rat basically. make a weekly schedule of what your gonna work everyday and stick to it. after a few months you'll see the results. you, and your male counterparts will enjoy them. nothing hotter than a girl with abs
No problem! Lol gaining/losing weight is pretty tough no matter what. I'm trying to drop some weight so my chest size goes down so I can get more fit for skiing. I hate running now because it's so uncomfortable but it's still tough trying to monitor/change diets
lifting. I have played soccer since last summer so im fit that way. I have been trying to build some muscle. I just dont get how im losing 20 lbs so fast when Im already a fit kid.
In reality though I would go for muscle building then if you don't like that body type, just stop it will go away quick and turn into water weight. but don't eat unhealthy just because you want to gain weight or you will feel unhealthy just eat more filling foods, steak, mashed potatoes, lots of milk. But if you have been at your body type for a while, you prob won't change much.
They key to gaining weight is EXTREMELY simple: More calories in, than calories exerted out.
But since you don't want fat weight, I would work out, mix cardio with maybe a spin class at the gym, kick boxing or something that gets your whole body involved, and ddrink a protein shake once a day, eat more. You'll see yourself stay toned but slowly start to build more lean muscle, which is what you want.
Don't snack. Eat just three, big meals a day. Don't drink lots of water. If you must drink a lot drink calories. That's how most people gain weight when they are trying to lose it. And snacking increases your metabolism so don't snack.
i would really recommend cycling and swimming as good low impact alternatives. they'll be much more comfortable and fun to do until you get to your desired body weight.
Why do you think body builders eat 6+ meals a day?
Last summer I made it my goal to put on some beef. ( I'm 6'2" and was 154 lb). I'm one of the skinny motherfuckers who can eat WHATEVER they want and do no exercise and still not put on an ounce.
I went to the gym 3 times a week and ate shitloads. 6+ meals a day, eating huge amounts, even when full to the brim with food. I was aiming for around 7000 calories a day and 150g protein.
Over two months I put on 7 kgs, and I sat at a more healthy 170lbs.
When university started again, I was back to no money for anything, (least of all 7000 calories per day). And I lost 19lbs in the space of 5 months.
Sparknotes:
Sucks to be an ectomorph (skinny guy)
Eat SHITLOADS and work out and you WILL put on weight.
But you need to be able to afford the food (I can't).
If you stop eating/gyming you will eventually waste back to your natural skinny frame.
Dammit. All you guys make me feel bad, I'm 6'3" 215lbs (overweight) and although neither overweight or underweight is healthy I feel like i'd rather be underweight. Oh well, gotta go bike some more...
but she's not gonna be a body builder.....she's a she
eating increases your metabolism and works your muscles more, you will gain muscle, but to just gain weight, you want to drink a lot of calories, sugar calories like lemonade, soda, etc and you don't want to snack, snacking, if healthy, will cause you to lose weight quick
Honestly, from the picture you look good to me. I don't know how old you are, but chances are that you will naturally gain a little weight when you hit your 20s anyway (not get fat, just not be a teenager anymore). I was like that too in high school-big time xcountry and track caused me to topped out at 5'6" and 110 (and that was senior year). I'm 120 now and happy with it.
If you are concerned or don't like being too thin, then simply eat more then you burn. Keep exercising or do sports or whatever to put on muscle and not fat (and to be healthy in general), but eat more meals a days (at least 3 solid meals and lots of snacking, but big time athletes will eat 6+meals a day) to get enough calories. Also make sure that you are getting a lot of protein in, which will help.
fucking this I'm 6 foot 125-130lbs depending on the day. either i have a really shitty scale or i need to gain some wait. (btw i eat like a jackass; 2-3 snacks a day between lunch and supper, i have never gained more than 10lbs in my life)
However much you eat now, triple it and hit the gym. Plenty of protein is key as well.
If you're like me, eating shitloads of calories wont change anything. You're body will just burn them up.
BUT if you do some weights, eat heaps of calories and heaps of protein then you're golden. The excess calories mean your body ALWAYS has fuel to burn and never gets its fuel from consuming stored fat/muscle (what it does when you're hungry, stunting your growth). Then the protein on top of those calories goes straight into rebuilding your damaged muscle fibres from hitting the gym. Hence you get bigger.
Yeah your weight problem would definitely be harder than mine.
Food is awesome, eating more is hardly a chore, but eating less would be shitty. Hungry all the time, not much energy etc sucks.
Having said that, not having to worry about calories so much and just focusing on working out/stacking on the protein sounds pretty awesome to this skinny fuck. (far less costly too, money being the only reason I stopped my gym/eating).
haha yea, i'm the opposite, i eat more, but less at each meal, which is hard because i can eat. Like I can eat a pizza at dinner and not be full. But now i eat multiple meals a day, but very small meals, and not only do i lift, but i run a lot, since i'm losing weight and gaining muscle
