FUCK THE SWITCH 10

I. That was ridiculous, i was so disappointed in hearing Mike Douglas saying all that stupid shit about biggest spin will win it, he, being one of the pioneers of the sport saying stuff like that just makes me sad

switch 10s are fun and all, but thats what everybody save a few did. it was lame lame lame lame. i hated the announcing with a passion (it reminded me of last year when amplitude was the only thing that mattered in the pipe. amplitude was "all the judges were looking for") this year it was all switch tens that they were looking for. they could have postponed it, gah, it was gay.

What is even more gay was the time they gave it. last year i remember turning on the tv thinking i was going to watch skiing, but all i watch is rednecks on bikes in the snow, when, of course, they have the same fucking event in the fucking summer for the same fucking people! like after 20 minutes of skiing it was back to shit

i watched it recorded so i didnt get the full effect of anger, but damn...
 
I....almost punched the tv when they had to slow down each sw ten to look at "details" and when they said tj had a higher score because he held the grab for 7 frames rather than andreas' 5 frames
 
in all honesty, the switch 10 is my favorite trick. but this x games shit was just crap. Rainville's 3 made my day. had i ben a judge that would have got a 100
 
except his binding didnt break because those are p18s and theyre supposed to move like that. i have a few pair myself.
 
rory should have won, just because rossi doesnt know how to make good bindings, switch double, did anybody else see all the other skiers reactions, it was like the reaction you get from a child when you tell them thers no santa claus, face wide open and shocked
 
I...even at the open in big air traingin i wa slike CAB 7'S ONLY!! and lotys of people were like ya thatd be dope...including jacob...who ended up doing cab 10...its so gay...i stuck with cab 7s and so did lolo.....hes the fucking MAN
 
people could do other stuff if the judges werent so dumb and rate everything on the number of spins, if they werent just lookin for #spins that comp. would have been soooo much better

a double invert would have been cool to see, or maybe something other than a switch 10. When i heard that the slopestyle was cancled i was bummed but then i figured 'well maybe this will take the pressure off and show some progression' instead all i got to see was 10000 sw10. I think the most original trick thrown besides the sw double backflip and 7 truckdriver, was Jons spreads before he got switch. The whole comp was super gay.
 
nope. i love a good switch 10 but the thing that pisses me off is everyone is doing them. get some origional tricks there boys. do some fucking shifty's
 
yea everyone in x games totally should have been like, "switch 10s are fuckin gay, im gonna throw a switch 7, lose, win no money, BUT get props from kids on NS." until judges adopt the theory that a stylie switch 7 beats a switch 10, which is rediculous in itself, everyone needs to stop complaining, its getting pretty old.
 
yeah i would much rather watch motoX than skiing. everyone styles their backflips so differently and creativley. sooooo s!ckkk
 
I was getting so pissed and apparently TJ is god, I don't see how his switch 10 can get 10 points higher than vanulars

But

what else can the judges do? they can't really award the winner for doing a zero when the other guy does a switch ten..

All i seee is something kinda sad is happenning in skiing and snowboarding. In a way we have reach a limit in capacities i mean people can do pretty much every spin n flip.

I remember when best trick or big air use to be a chance for someone to do something new and bigger. Like (i know htis is far back but) when Jf cusson threw the first switch 7 and won the X games. It seems theres nothing left to do....

yea, casue if i was pro id wanna be the one who loses doing 7's instead of winning by doing winning tricks. pros compete to win and get money so they can live, not to look really sick, that s for videos

However, you guys all forget that the X-Games are not produced to appeal to the core audience, they are MADE FOR TV. They want to see that consistancy from all the athletes, think of the last time you saw a mind blowing trick at the X-Games that was orginal
 
I bet money if it was snowboard slopestyle we all know that they would've postponed it till tomorrow fucking (they get way more in terms of t.v. time) snowboards skiers always get screwed

OK seriously, what the hell??

I thought this competition was sick! What is everyone complaining about? Instead of seeing a gayass slopestyle course with easy rails that I would find at my home mountain, we get an awsomely huge jump where the pros can showcase their biggest tricks. So instead of watching a bunch of skiers do some easy grinds and then some simple 360s and 540s and maybe switch 7s and 9s, we get some true big air showcase. And nothing is more progressive the switch 1080 with a good grab.

This is what skiing should become in my opinion. More technical, to the point where every jump is the same, but judges have to analyze each jump by fram and see who held the grab the longest. That would be true progression, because then we'd know who was the best. If you don't throw a switch 10 in contest, that just means you suck and cant hang with the pros.
 
there was a few cork cab 10's which were semi orig, then gagnier spun unatty, but the dub backky shudda won that shit even tho he fell cuz 10s r soooooooooooooooooooooo gay
 
what up yea i am gonna stay out of this switch 10 battle. its a sick trick, its getting done a little too much tho i agree... but every person in here needs to shut up right now unless you can do a switch 10... bashing on a trick, especially one of that magnitude without even being close to performing it is not cool. i personally think that taking off forward in general should come back, but you cant say fuck a trick if you cant do it. this applies to all of you cept bishop because i think he can do them.
